Steve Round is a fairly Anonymous character - but he is highly thought of at Everton and for England where he was part of the set-up at the age of 35. He could join Moyes at United - if he doesn't chase a managerial position himself

Then you have Weir and Stubbs - but I feel they are where they are because they are former Everton-players and not someone Moyes would bring to United.

Andy Holden has been at Everton so long - so he won't leave - in addition to that probably indicating him being happy where he is.

Steele came across so well on an MUTV show focused on the keepers training. As you say him De Gea, seem to have a great relationship and Linders too for that matter.

Been having a read around Moyes' management structure at Everton and apparently he is heavily into stats and performance analysis, with two chief analysts who I imagine could make the move to OT.
 
Could Rene be promoted to assistant manager? I think Phelan might stay at the club, but I don't see Moyes keeping him on as assistant.

Moyes wants Neville to follow him to Old Trafford for new United backroom team

Phil Neville is in line for a return to Old Trafford as part of new manager David Moyes’s backroom team.

The former Manchester United player was already set to leave Everton later this month after eight years, and could now follow Moyes back to his old club.

Neville, 36, could also be joined by Everton’s reserve-team coach David Weir, although both men may yet feature prominently in the search for Moyes’s successor at Goodison Park.

Weir, 42, also spent eight years as a player at Everton before returning a year ago.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s sudden retirement, and the appointment of Moyes, has created a degree of uncertainty among United’s coaches. Normally, if a manager is sacked or chooses to leave for another job, he is followed by his backroom staff, but this situation is different. There will not be wholesale changes, although it is understood that Moyes will be able to bring a couple of staff with him.

That leaves a question mark over Ferguson’s assistant Mike Phelan and first-team coach Rene Meulensteen. Phelan has considered management, having come close to taking over at Burnley in 2010. It remains to be seen if he and Meulensteen have a long-term future at the club.

Moyes wants to bring in someone he trusts, and Neville in particular could be a key figure in helping the new manager settle, considering his background with both clubs. A member of United’s famous 1995 Youth Cup-winning side, Neville lifted six titles as a player at Old Trafford and also won the Champions League.

Set to work with the England Under 21s at the European Championship in Israel this summer, Neville has maintained close ties with former team-mates like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, who could also be given coaching roles by Moyes.
 
Gary Neville as AM would be quality. Rene needs to stay - he is always very highly rated in FM
 
Eric Steele is really important for De Gea, there is no way he should be going anywhere.
Rene and Mike know how to coach a winning team, and so many of the players sing Rene's praises, he coached Cleverley and Welbeck as kids coming through and RvP thinks he's fantastic. I want all the staff to stay the same. If they were good enough for SAF... I feel so resistant to change. Why fix what's not broken?
 
It's going to be difficult regarding the backroom staff. The coaches have always implemented Fergie's style of football into the training. Would they be able to suddenly change their ways and implement Moyes style. For example, if Moyes wants to play a higher pressing game that he was used to at Everton, would it be beneficial for him to bring with him his Everton coach responsible for that, or does he stick with our coach responsible in that area.
 
We really are blessed to have former players like Giggs, Scholes and (presumably) Neville willing to dedicate their post playing careers to this club.

I think in general the coaches will stay the same, we have one of the best set ups in the world and always manage to bring players on in their development. If anything Moyes will relish the chance to work with resources and staff we have at United, it will be so much larger than anything Everton have given our finances and size of Carrington.

No doubt he'll bring some of his own people though, I don't know who is first team coaches are but some of them might come in, maybe a chief scout as well for example. But in general there won't be much change IMO, would be daft to do so. If it ain't broke etc.
 
One of the big reasons why Moyes was preferred is he would not demand big changes to an already first class setup.
 
Moyes has been given the privilege to manage United - he needs to justify that faith placed in him...so I'd want him to come without ANY Everton staff, coaching or playing.
SAF always talks about United's non-playing staff, and it's not like we have been fighting relegation every season is it?
Meulensteen is too valuable an asset to lose...
 
I hope Rene stays anyway. I also hope most of the backroom team stays the same but I reckon it's the end of Mike Phelan. Moyes would want to keep the structure the same but he can't be seen to just come in and use 100% of Fergie's staff while Fergie has just moved upstairs. He needs to change it a bit and by bringing in a new Assistant he'd do that.

There is a great structure there that needs very little change and as has been said, I'd say he has already guaranteed the club he won't change things too much, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he brought in a new assistant or promoted a new one from within at Phelan's expense.
 
i don't think much will change with maybe 2 or 3 new faces coming in to assist moyes. maybe one or two from the current backroom staff will leave though.

There will be no changes in the back room staff. There might be some additions, but nobody is leaving.
 
I thought they said SAF got quite emotional when telling players/staff as he knew a lot of staff including technical members, it would have cost them their job..
