The Championship 2018/19 - Play-off final

If Brentford start taking more of their chances then they could seriously challenge for the top 2 not just play offs - Neal Maupay top scorer 8 goals and 3 assists in 5 games (was suspended for 3) if he could improve his one on one finishing no exageration to say he could be on at least 12 goals already. Haven't won away yet but should have really at Stoke, Villa and Ipswich. An absolute joy to watch at home some really scintillating stuff. "Frank Lampard's" Derby County up next - could be an interesting game.

Our League Cup against them next week could be tricky. We need to pay attention.

Over 8k going to that as not played Arsenal for decades - in fact the record against Arsenal is very good :)

Hard one to call given important league fixtures around it and being third away game in a row I would expect their to be some players rested but if Arsenal treat as an opportunity to blood youngsters and give time to fringe players upset could very much be on. Fair play to Arsenal on the ticket prices too £10 and £5 for kids and concessions.

Holy shit. What a strike from McGinn

Final results:

Aston Villa - Sheffield Wed 1:2
Derby - Brentford 3:1
Ipswich - Bolton 0:0
Leeds - Birmingham 1:2
Middlesbrough - Swansea 0:0
Nottingham - Rotherham 1:0
Reading - Hull 3:0
Sheffield Utd - Preston 3:2
Stoke - Blackburn 2:3
West Brom - Millwall 2:0

First defeat for Leeds, but
Middlesbrough can’t take advantage for it. WBA are 2nd, while Stoke are still struggling. Q.P.R.-Norwich now.

Berahino missed a 90th minute penalty to make it 3-3 against Blackburn. Stoke had made a comeback. Currently 18th in the table

My hometown team Preston North End aren't doing well at all, sitting bottom of the Championship following 3 defeats on the trot.

They're in a bad situation off the pitch also, the other night they held a fans forum night with the manager (Alex neil), chief executive (peter ridsdale) and other senior members, it ended up with fighting. The reason why? The fans petitioned night and day for a long time last year with the local council to allow the club to build a new training complex on a local golf course. They got the approval which meant that the club owned this land, the chairman has turned round and said instead of building the training complex on the land, has building houses on it instead. The fans are fuming and deflated with the change of plans and rightly so.

The club is up for sale and valued at £77m, the owner won't accept a penny less apparently but the fans were also told there won't be any change in the way they do business (buy younger players, develop them and sell).

With the owner putting in money out of his own pocket to balance the books each year, I'd have them as being relegated this year, which is a shame.

Preston have Harrop and Pearson so I do try to keep up with them and try to catch the odd game. Good luck sorting all that out!

Pearson plays every game, my friends love him but think he'll be soon moving and they'll make £10-15m on him. He gets a lot of bookings a season, still a hot headed player of sorts.

Harrop barely plays, in the same forum meeting, Alex Neil said Harrop is the most talented player at the club but doesn't suit his system. He then played him the next night vs Leeds and it was a great performance.

Yeah, whenever I've seen a game I've always been happy to see Pearson doing well.

On the other hand, I've been disappointed at the lack of game time Harrop's had. It doesn't surprise me to hear that he's rated as the most talented player they have - he was my favourite youth player in recent memory for a reason! Here's hoping he starts getting more game time. Sadly I missed the Leeds match but wanted to catch it due to seeing that Harrop played but couldn't find it anywhere. :(

Yeah he's their best player by far.

Yeah I don't think it's panned out how Harrop wanted it to. The Leeds game should've been on the red button on sky sports if you're in the UK mate? Every time the Championship games are on midweek they show them all.

Yeah, I'm in Manchester but don't have Sky Sports anymore I'm afraid. Thanks anyway, though! Best of luck for the rest of the season.

WBA leading the table after beating Preston 3-2, as Middlesbrough only draw against Hull. Sheffield United win so they are 2nd. Brentford draw. Norwich climbing the table. 1-0 to Wigan. Birmingham-Ipswich 2-2, Blackburn-Nottingham 2-2, Bolton-Derby 1-0 and Swansea-Q.P.R. 3-0. Ora Rotherham-Stoke City.
2-2 FT. Shame because Stoke were losing 2-0.

Leeds win in the second half so they are back to the top along with Middlesbrough. Stoke and Q.P.R. also win, while Villa, Brentford and Swansea draw.
