The Championship 2018/19 - Play-off final

I’m really enjoying the Championship this season, the quality is far better than it was 3 or 4 years ago.

I’ve got a soft spot for Derby, Lampard is working wonders there. They play some lovely football at times.

Leeds under Bielsa and Swansea under Potter are also impressing me.

I actually prefer watching it to the Premker League right now.

I feel exactly the same and was having a similar conversation with my dad.
Games are generally good quality. It's a sad indictment that some championship football teams play better attacking football then we do.

Final results:

Middlesbrough - Derby 1:1
Birmingham - Sheffield Wed 3:1
Bolton - Hull 0:1
Bristol City - Stoke 0:1
Millwall - Ipswich 3:0
Norwich - Brentford 1:0
Preston - Rotherham 1:1
Sheffield Utd - Wigan 4:2
Swansea - Reading 2:0
West Brom - Blackburn 1:1

Sheffield United back to the top, while WBA are still struggling. Norwich on a high. Leeds-Nottingham now.
1-1 FT.

Quite a lot of the players playing in the championship are ex premiership players, quite a lot of them are full internationals too.
Couple that with high quality management such as Bielsa, Pulis alongside upcoming managers such as Potter and Lampard then you have a good mix for quality football

Such a tight league. Difference last year is Wolves were a top half team premier league team as they're showing this year in the championship and previous year had Newcastle.

No such stand out team so field is much more open at the top.

Shame we're as clueless as ever but that's been the norm since 2010 so nothing new.

This league is just crazy and unpredictable. Sheffield United lose so they can't extend their lead at the top. Norwich take advantage of it to go top of the league before Leeds and Boro play. Brentord back to the winning way thanks to a 2-0 against Millwall, while WBA lose again. Swansea lose as well. Reading-Bristol City 3-2, Derby County-Birmingham City 3-1, Ipswich-Preston 1-1, Aston Villa-Bolton 2-0 and Blackburn Rovers-Q.P.R. 2-0. Stoke City-Middlesbrough now.
0-0 FT.

Terry destroys Lampard and Aston Villa go into the playoffs zone. Norwich keep impressing. They were losing 3-2 until '92, they won 4-3 in the end. But Middlesbrough don't give up. 2-0 to Wigan. Swansea, Preston and Q.P.R. win as well. Birmingham-Hull 3-3, Blackburn-Rotherham 1-1, Nottingham-Stoke 2-2 and Reading-Ipswich 2-2. WBA-Leeds now.
As expected, Bielsa has collapsed. 4-1 WBA FT.

Aston Villa in playing well in a game of football shock.

Not quite yet in the top 6 though Santi. We don't go down to about 10th like Serie B does. ;)

Norwich thrash Swansea to keep the lead at the top of the table. Leeds temporary reach the 2nd place. Derby doing well as well, as they beat Sheffield Wednesday away. Stoke still struggling, as it's only 2-2 against Q.P.R. Hull-City-Nottingham 0-2, Millwall-Bolton 1-1, Preston-Blackburn 4-1, Rotherham-Sheffield United 2-2 and Wigan-Reading 0-0. Brentford-Middlesbrough now.
2-1 Boro FT. Back in the second place.

Norwich is my second team. It's been a real surprise this season.
Last season they couldn't buy a goal, seemed most home games were van Gaal-esque 0-0 draws.

Selling Pritchard in January, Murphy and Maddison in the summer for big money and signing players for minimal fee, my hopes for this season were very low, I was actually expecting Farke to have farked off by now.

But the team is firing on all cylinders, Teemu Pukki has been a godsend.

It's the same Director of football who oversaw Huddersfield's recruitment towards the Premier League.
It seems that a DoF could be a good idea at our club.

We've got out of jail massively here.

That replay of Blues fans thinking Adams shot had gone in is priceless though.

Would love Villa back in the Premier League. Got fond memories of away days at Villa Park when I was living in England. A cracking stadium where we always did well.

They actually do remind me of Huddersfield. German manager and found some good players from Bundesliga.

Just found out about this game. Guardian has "Arsenal Vs Brighton - Women's Super League Live!" instead of covering this. What an insane newspaper.

Hutton turning into Messi. This is better than 1982.
