The MMA thread

This is the fight that GSP needs, I think he'll do the business and take back the title soon. He's hungry for it.

Also, did anyone see Spike's UFC Insider or whatever it was called, where they follow Couture around? That dude deserves to be champ. Humble but brutal. One of the best in the business. Makes Ortiz look like a fecking chump.

feckin' hell ... awesome night. Spoilers below: Highlight to read.

Huerta suprised the shit out of me with his ground defense. Calm as hell, he didn't look like he would lose at all. Huerta will be fighting for a belt soon, and I'll put money on him winning it. GSP's fight was awesome. Koschek looked surprised the whole fight and GSP just ran him over and over again. GSP is a different animal now with real coaching in his corner. Couture is a beast!!! The 2 kicks he took to the head would have flattened any other opponent. Unlucky for Gonzaga the way his nose got fecked up, but Randy absolutely dominated him from start to finish. Great card.

End Spoilers

Can't wait for Team Hughes vs. Team Serra.

sounds like it was a good fight night... i don't know the results.
should be able to watch it on bravo tonight

Wow!

that was an eventfull event.

Gsp is the man....

and what about couture? fukin hell man... he's the best i've seen at having a strategy for each fight and sticking to it

he was humble as hell, top bloke, and glad he kept his belt! at 44 the man is amazing...

Apparently Couture is asking Dana to sign Fedor so he can fight him. Bad idea, but it shows he has no fear.

Not saying that he's going to retire again, but it would be a nice way to bow out if he loses. It'd be an awesome fight thought.

GSP calling on Dana to take UFC to Motreal ... I think they should wait until GSP is the next title contender and take it to his hometown.

Dana announced at the post-card press conference that GSP gets the winner of Hughes-Serra.

Bad call on the Bisping - Hamill fight. Rampage and Henderson fight was pretty good too.

The hamil - bisping fight was fecking bullshit. Hamil fecking deserved that, fecking joke. The rampage - henderson fight was fecking class, I think henderson should drop down to the 185 and take on silva (that's if rich doesn't beat him). I'm not knocking him, I'm just saying he see more suited for the 185 division. He put up a big fight against rampage and it was a close fight.

On a side note, what is wrong with cro-cop (sp?), I think he is not there mentally, I hope he can turn it around cause he is an awesome fighter. My friend thinks he might drop down to 205 and take on rampage, but, personally I don't see him doing that.

Decent fights.

The Bisping-Hamil decision was pretty bad, although the last half of the fight was all Bisping. Rampage actually really impressed me with his ground work against Hendo, since Hendo was an Olympic wrestler in Greco-Roman, really good performance by Rampage. Henderson will dominate the Middleweight division, no one there will touch him, not Spider, not Franklin, no one....

As far as Cro Cop, he won't go to 205, he would have way too much problem cutting weight, as he has always fought in MMA and K-1 as a Heavyweight.

Cro Cop wasn't mentally there. He's still thinking of the Gonzaga fight. With all credit to Kongo though, he's improved a lot since his last fight.

Still pretty pissed about Bisping's win. I think he'll drop a class and Hamill won't get a rematch.

That's exactly what I was thinking. He really needs to regroup because if he losses the next fight, I think he's gone.

You'll see him take a step back in competition for the next fight. It will allow him to get his confidence back. He didn't look like the same Cro Cop in that fight.

Nate Diaz just posted a pretty good win on Fight Night. Good jiu-jitsu fight. Team Hughes vs. Team Serra starts after Fight Night.

i thought the rampage-henderson was an okay fight.. but it was close, and i wanted henderson to win.

bisping- hamil was whack, cocky punkass.. and the crowd had the nerve to boo a deaf guy.. how classy..

cro-cop.. my favorite fighter... don't know what happened or what to think. hope he can turn it around. the kongo guy was kinda huge though.

looks like the rivalry between serra and hughes is getting nicely developed on ultimate fighter 6.... should be just about at boiling point when they meet.
