Dunno if this means Anything, but looking thru the listings, it's apparently on setanta Ireland. They better do something fast, I'm going Away in the morning until monday and need to set it on the sky plus box

i know people who have called setanta about this and setanta have told them that the listings are wrong...

fecking ufc...

thursday morning now and still no announcement... im now thinking the glass is half empty...

where can i watch a streem of this...

or nick a download on saturday morning... links much appreciated.

edit my friends were in england so this might not apply to setanta ireland...

however as somebody poited out elsewhere if setanta ireland has rights to the ufc then it makes channel 5 the likley destination for the ufc as they dont broadcast in ireland... might be some truth in this?

I hope this gets aired. I've been looking forward to Bisping vs Henderson since the UK vs US ultimate fighter ended.

I contacted them during the week and they said it definitely wasn't on. However I found this in a UFC thread in another forum:

Setanta Sports will broadcast UFC 100 live from Las Vegas this weekend. The live fight action begins at 3am in the early hours of Sunday morning (Saturday night) on the Setanta Ireland channel. UFC 100 is the biggest event in mixed martial arts history and the Ultimate Fighting Championship is bringing out the big guns for the night. Two championships will be on the line as UFC heavyweight title holder Brock Lesnar defends his crown against rival Frank Mir and UFC welterweight champion George ‘Rush’ St-Pierre puts his belt up for grabs against Brazilian knockout artist Thiago ‘Pitbull’ Alves. In one of the most anticipated fights of the night, the Ultimate Fighter coaches will also collide as Dan Henderson faces Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping in a pivotal middleweight showdown. Irish UFC fans can see this premium event, which takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Centre in Las Vegas, live on Setanta Ireland. I think it could be on in Ireland but I'm not sure about UK. I'll ring them again.

I have contacted Setanta. It is definitely on Setanta Ireland. 100% they said.

I'm not sure about the UK though.

tick... tock... tick... tock...

The news many fans have been waiting for.

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/sport/...-hour-live-tv-marathon-free-to-all-in-the-uk/

It’s official. Right here.

I can reveal that UFC 100, from the Mandalay Bay Resort, will be live and free on UK television - it will show free to air on satellite channel 433 and ALSO will be streamed free onto UFC.com on Saturday night for 9 hours, a marathon stint, between 9pm and 6am. It will show a programme of the 100 greatest fights in UFC history, followed by the Countdown show, followed by the live event.

Channel 433 on Sky is a dead channel which is becoming a UFC channel for 9 hours only.

To clarify - if you are a Virgin Media or Freeview customer, it is a case of watching it at a friend’s place who has Sky, or watching it completely free on UFC.com online. UFC have been streaming events for years, so it will be good quality.

I dont have sky :( and I bet the live streem will be super slowed down by people like me!

 Sounds too good to be true!

They don't usually show those on the live events do they? I thought for telly they just did the maincard?

yeah but i dont know about with the streeming?...

i know in the states you can pay to have the undercard on the streem as well

but the live streem was always banned in the uk (well the official one) under the terms of the tv deal...

so the undercard may or may not be on the streem... i dunno???

UFC® 100 TO AIR LIVE IN UK
FANS CAN WATCH ON SKY CHANNEL 433 OR ON UK.UFC.com

London, England – UFC 100, the biggest mixed martial arts event in history, will be televised live on multiple platforms in the United Kingdom this coming Saturday, July 11, the Ultimate Fighting Championship® organisation has confirmed.

British UFC fans have two ways of experiencing the greatest night in mixed martial arts history live: on Sky Channel 433 and online at UK.UFC.com. Fans will be able to catch all the action from the biggest fight night of the year completely free of charge.

Thank feck for the on-line stream as I have Virgin Media. Note that you need to install MS Silverlight to watch the stream.

They usually show a few of the undercard fights after the main card is completed. Depends how much time is left for the event though.

Now that we all know how we're going to catch UFC 100, it's time for predictions.

Heavyweight Championship unification bout: Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir

Brock Lesnar - TKO, 2nd Round

Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St-Pierre vs. Thiago Alves

GSP - UD

Welterweight bout: Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago

Tough one to call, I'll go with with Thiago via submission

Middleweight bout: Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping

Hendo via decision

Middleweight bout: Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher

Akiyama via submission

Hold on a cocking moment.

This is gonna be on in the middle of the night, right? Any idea how to sky+ a channel that doesn't exist?
The channel already exists. It is currently 'The Racing World Network.'

In any event, the channel will become UFC central at 9pm, GMT.

UFC 100 will air LIVE and FREE on Sky channel 433, the mixed martial arts promotion have confirmed.

SunSport can exclusively reveal the biggest show in MMA history will also be available to watch on UFC.com.

For fans wanting to see the Las Vegas spectacular on TV, Sky channel 433 — formerly the Racing World network — will effectively become a UFC station for nine hours only.

And viewers will be able to catch all the action from the biggest fight night of the year completely free of charge.

As an exciting bonus for British fans, Sky channel 433's coverage will begin at 9pm on Saturday with all five episodes of the UFC's Top 100 Fights.

They will be followed by the official Countdown to UFC 100 programme, taking you up to 3am when the spotlight switches to Las Vegas.

Anyone without a Sky subscription need not worry as every punch, kick and submission will be shown on the UFC's official website.

For details on how to watch the event live online, simply visit UFC.com.

Included on the historic UFC 100 card are championship battles between heavyweight juggernauts Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir, and welterweight wrecking machines Georges St Pierre and Thiago Alves.

Ultimate Fighter coaches Michael 'The Count' Bisping and former Pride champion Dan Henderson will also clash in a middleweight showdown.

You gotta hand it to Dana White. That's a cunning way to get huge exposure in the UK without letting one of the major channels hold him to ransom because of the crazy short timeline for negotiation.

well if he wanted major exposure then virgin 1 or better still channel 5 was the way to go...

i am just hoping that espn do not have the same problems as setanta with their technology (ie its shit and breaks down a lot and freezes etc)...

oh and bt vision dont know if they will get espn, nor do virgin...

having spoken to them they both feel confident they will have the channel by the time the football seasion starts (but thats after ufc 101 which is a fantastic card as well... so who knows perhaops we have the same bollocks next month as well)

Brock Lesnar Vs. Frank Mir
I don't think Mir can be 100%. If he was, I'd give him the edge. I think Brock will pummel him. Mir to win the third battle if he is 100% though.

Georges St-Pierre Vs. Thiago Alves
Should be a great fight. Alves should stand up to GSP strength wise. GSP has better overall skill though.

Jon Fitch
Vs. Paulo Thiago
I think Fitch has more quality.

Dan Henderson Vs. Michael Bisping
Henderson is an MMA legend. Bisping hasn't fought anyone of that standard apart from Rashad. Henderson to win.

Yoshihiro Akiyama Vs. Alan Belcher

Mark Coleman Vs. Stephan Bonnar

Mac Danzig Vs. Jim Miller

Jon Jones Vs. Jake O'Brien

Dong Hyun Kim Vs. TJ Grant

CB Dollaway Vs. Tom Lawlor

Matt Grice Vs. Shannon Gugerty

Did anyone watch the weigh ins? Mir looked strong and in very good shape. Brock looked even angrier than usual. They were all in great shape, except for Coleman who was lean but looked weight drained as feck. Maybe its just his demeanour, but he looked absolutely knackered.

Coleman's conditioning was shite in his last fight. If he's struggled to cut weight this time round he's gonna get his arse handed to him.

For all you sky+'ers, it's all up on 433 now. Time to hit that wee red "R" button. Can't wait.

Brock Lesnar Vs. Frank Mir
Brock to win. Mir wont be saved by his boyfriend ref this time.

Georges St-Pierre Vs. Thiago Alves
This shoudl be awesome. I have to go with GSP though.

Jon Fitch Vs. Paulo Thiago
Thiago.

Dan Henderson Vs. Michael Bisping
Bisping with the biggest career win. I think he will shock a lot of people. Hope he wins.

Yoshihiro Akiyama Vs. Alan Belcher

Mark Coleman Vs. Stephan Bonnar

Dilemma of either staying up and watching the countdown then the show, or napping before the show, waking up at 3am to watch the event, and sleeping 3 hours later. Hmmm.

I'm going to try and sleep in 10mins until 9pm and watch everything from then onwards. I don't feel very sleepy though but I don't reckon I'll last until 6am. Then I've got to get up for the German grand prix at 12 so things are far from ideal but at least I can bloody watch it... Have not seen any UFC since it went on Setanta but used to watch it on Bravo.

Btw, here is some insight on the new TV deal in the UK from Marshall Zelaznik.

ok so the content is staying on ugc.com for 24 hours as an on demand service...

so if you wake up at say 8am... you can just watch the fights then...

hummm I think i might just watch it 1st thing in the morning and avoid the results overnight

Yeah if you want but I don't really want to watch the whole thing on my laptop screen and don't know how to hook it up to my TV.

Just stay up man, the "liveness" of the event will make it worth it

hummmbut i have a desktop pc wired into the back of a 55 inch plasma in the living room...

also i have a mate fighting in a cage fight in nottingham tomorrow so im gonna be at that all afternoon and evening... and i dont fancy doing that tired

so im deffinatley just gonna get up at 7 or 8... watch it... go to the gym, watch the grandprix and have a bite to eat then go to the fight...

pretty nice day all in all

I'm getting very tired now. I think I will go asleep until the event itself starts. I want to enjoy it rather than be struggling to stay awake.
