Film The Movies I want to see thread

This is old, and a spoof, but for me this is Standard Tom, when he doesn't have a 'deep' role to play:

It's hard to say as he was the lighter side of the film in comparison to Brad Pitts constant panting and swooning throughout the film.

If by "panting and swooning" you mean staring blankly into the distance and speaking in monotone, then yep. Which was odd cos out of the two Pitt is easily the far more charming & interesting actor. He phoned in a Meet Joe Black performance there though.

Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, Bobby De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Olivier, Tom Cruise....all fantastic actors.

Pacino's hair is a better actor than Tom Cruise to be fair. But then Al Pacino's hair is a fantastic actor in it's own right. The diversity is staggering.

That was just the beginning. I mean, what is this? What actually is this? Don't try and tell me it isn't alive, because it clearly is.

Pah, he's Al fecking Pacino - his hair can do what it wants.

and now Del Toro is out of Star Trek 2

I don't really want to see it, and the film itself looks cringey to feck....

..But I think we can assume that's the Oscar sewn up.

Amateurish really isn't it? It looks almost like a piss take.

The teaser was slightly better. Though it still looks like a movie of the week, bar the performance.

But Streep looks absolutely fecking terrifying.

Unless it's a Horror/Comedy film, it won't be accurate. Fittingly, Denis's head appears to lie above an Indian burial ground at 0:49 secs.

A Movie about Thatcher will never please anyone. She's far too divisive a figure. The left will always deride a film that shows her heroically and the right one that shows her maliciously. Though making it a Hollywood melodrama (which is what it looks like) seems a bad idea. Richard E Grant as Michael Heseltine sounds like something The Comic Strip would come up with.

Still won't stop Streep getting the Oscar. She does, to be fair, look terrific. If terrific is a word that can ben applied to Margret Thatcher.

Not another The Thing sequel, surely? ;) More seriously, I fear that the end of that trailer might lead people to think of her as Elizabeth I reborn. Jesus H etc...

.

It's right up her street though. That said, she does seem to be parodying Fatcher(isn't she dead yet?!).

No but she has dementia. The whole film looks like a parody. I'm still not sure it isn't. John Sessions is playing Edward Heath.

Yeah, its much better. Better choice of music, and it also isn't a three minute merry-go-round of 'heroic moment - inspiring caption' shittiness.

She does half look spooky though. Like some sort of albino birdface thing.
