Misogyny ain't that bad, innit, and Kermode's pretentious so feck him. Or something. What do you mean?
(I'd have left it, but he answered your question by repeating exactly what made you question him to begin with)

6.5 is about right really. No complaints there...Yeah, so Entourage could drop to a 6.5 or lower... not exactly a good IMDB score.
Entourage retains many elements of the HBO series, but feels less like a film than a particularly shallow, cameo-studded extended episode of the show.
The episodes I saw didn't seem like Satire. And I really, really hate Entourage.
So it went from 8 to 7.2. What a transformation![]()
If it was just an ordinary movie without the show before it etc. then it would have been probably a 5/10. Because of the show I'd probably give it a 6.
Entourage
7/10
https://www.redcafe.net/threads/prometheus.330288/page-6It's The Departed he really hated. Well, I don't think he actually hated the film, but still, his rant on that was epic. You got a link to the Prometheus one? Never read it.
Thanks for that. I had no idea what plot points they were going on about and I'm at my parents for the weekend with nothing to do, so I re watched it this afternoon. It's so incredibly stupid and yet very good looking. A well polished turd.https://www.redcafe.net/threads/prometheus.330288/page-6
Starts at post #213 and goes on for pages. He must have a pen and notepad by his side when watching movies.
Apparently Kermode reviewed Human Centipede yesterday. Can imagine some of the scenes would be difficult to describe pre-watershed.Mildly intrigued to catch a bit of Entourage just to see how shite it is now. I didn't last long with the TV show, less than 5 minutes. Kermode's review was entertaining but he's playing to the crowd too much these days, imo.
So I saw this yesterday and overall I enjoyed it. I agree with you that the Dano parts were much stronger than the Cusack ones, but overall I was glad it was really a story about Brian Wilson and not the Beach Boys, so not their rise to fame, their first albums, etc., but I'd say it was quite a bold choice. It didn't really showcase their 'biggest hits' as a traditional biopic would, and even when one of their famous songs was shown, they focused more on the creative process and on Wilson's inspirations, which was interesting. Dano is really an excellent actor, don't think I've seen him be disappointing in anything I've seen with him, and I can understand why Cusack would maybe not work for everyone, but I quite like him and though at times his era was a bit more caricatural in the 'this is madness on screen' aspect, it still worked overall for me, though it wasn't half as interesting as the Dano parts.Love and Mercy - Brian Wilson's dark biopic. Splits between his creative peak in the 60s making Pet Sounds and difficult time in the 80s when he went off the rails, played by Paul Dano and John Cusack respectively. The Dano stuff is brilliant and captures his ability in the studio well. Cusack was a bizarre casting decision and didn't really work for me.
Age of Kill
A black ops sniper is blackmailed by a psychotic international terrorist into killing 6 unrelated people in 6 hours... but there is more to the victims than meets the eye.
Was not expecting much from this.
But I was pleasantly surprised by it, it was far better than I expected.
Yeah some of the acting was dreadful, Donna Air being one of them but thankfull she was not in that much.
Martin Kemp was excellent has the sniper.
The person behind it all was pretty easy to guess at, but a very solid film and worth watching.
7/10
she is not in it much dont let it put you off.Donna Air?! That has petrol station bargain bin written all over that.
Still not sure what channel you find all these films on.she is not in it much dont let it put you off.
I just download them, watch the first 5 mins if they get past that watch it all.Still not sure what channel you find all these films on.

I have seen it yes, not a classicAh, ok. You must have seen Vampyros Lesbos?
The countess is so fit though. Re-animator is on Zone Horror in 15 mins- thst's a blast from the past. I do have a soft spot for trashy horror films.I have seen it yes, not a classic![]()
Horror and disaster film are my fav , even the crappy ones. The countess is so fit though. Re-animator is on Zone Horror in 15 mins- thst's a blast from the past. I do have a soft spot for trashy horror films.

WhuuuJurassic World was pretty shit tbh. A mediocre monster flick. It had so much potential and they squandered it! Cool to see Nilsson make a cameo as the Gyrosphere operator though.
Re-animator is amazing. A re-animated head giving head to a young woman! I've got the special edition DVD and the cast commentary is pretty funny. Night of the Creeps is another cracking one from the same era.
I have never seen itI actually ended up watching it all again, which explains why I am so knackered today. Had forgotten that scene- even more depraved in that it's the lass's lobotomised dad who captures her and rips her clothes off for the headless guy.
I have never seen itI will be rectifying that later.
