Same. Kane destroyed Jones all game.

Eriksen was a class above all the players on the pitch though, he was terrific.

By a country mile.

I lost count of the errors he forced on Matic. His movement, workrate and positional play was a cut above everyone else on the park. His is literally the ideal midfielder - reminds me of Modric.

Completely outplayed us. They're shite away in big games but seem to be great at home in them. Similar to us, though we aren't as good at home but grind out some results.

One thing where Pochettino has mourinho beaten is getting his balance right. Mourinho seems blind to team balance.

Lock the fecking thread!

We were terrible but you played very well. Nothing but respect for Eriksen and the way you used your fullbacks to totally dominate us high up the pitch. I'm just glad Kane didn't get his 100th against us.

Eriksen and Dembele really took it upon themselves to show us up. Son and Kane for whatever reason forgot their core responsibility is to score goals. Dele was good without being outstanding.

Eriksen is a fantastic player. I prefer him to Kane, there is no nastiness nor cuntishness about him. He's a proper footballer

Kane doesnt seem particularly cnutish, just seems to go out there on the pitch and let his goal scoring do the talking.

But fair play to Spurs I was hoping for a much more conservative traditional Mou approach and going with a typical 0-1 Mou style win.

He is a cnut, have you not seen the ridiculous fouling he's been given freedom to do by the ref ? He can feck off

Seriously, this spurs team have a lot of quality.

How they are 5th in the table may be a testiment of the manager inability to motivate the team against lesser teams this year. It all went downhill after the high of beating real. Won't be surprise if they lose the next match after this high of beating united.

Well and truly deserved win for Spurs. Mou has a lot of homework to do.

Really enjoy watching Davinson Sanchez everytime I see him play, really hope Mina is as good but I have my doubts. Davinson looks brilliant

He has been absolutely immense for us - he came straight into the side and looked like he played there his entire career. He has had a few wobbles in some games but for his age he is very impressive and he was magnificent last night. Playing alongside the sublime Vertonghen will improve his game hugely.

Well done Spurs! Now I hope you lose your next game:)
Could not care less about their next game after yesterday's shite served by our own team. Just hoping we finish second and finally get a win in an away game against a top team.

Why is Vertonghen hardly ever mentioned by rival fans as one of the best CBs in the league?

He has been outstanding for years now, and is at the peak of his career. Regarded generally by Ajax fans as the best player to have played for them for generations as far as CBs go, the best youngster to have come through their club, and last night was just a master class in not just the defensive part of the game, but in ball playing too.

He is our best defender - all the focus is on Toby but it's actually Vertonghen who has been by far our best defender for several years now - easily the best in the league and one of the best in Europe. He would walk into any club in Europe - I honestly believe that.

I think Vertonghen has been Spurs' most consistent center back for the last couple of years now.

What? There was a thread not long ago best of the league so far this season and Vertonghen made it into most teams as one of the CB's. He's had a good season I think most people recognise that. And with some of the mainstays absent(Bailly, Alderweireld) hes virtually an auto pick.

He is a cnut, have you not seen the ridiculous fouling he's been given freedom to do by the ref ? He can feck off

I dont class poor technique tackling from a CF as being particularly malicious/spiteful or cnutish, more poor execution. Unlike Alli who will lash out with dangerous tackles when things arnt going his way.

Could easily have been 5 or 6. Is it possible for a team to be rampant without scoring? If so that was Spurs in the second half.
As much as Spurs were far better than Utd last night they didn’t really create a lot of chances. Arsenal created far more against us in a game we won 3-1.

Spurs are a good team, they can beat anyone on there day. They beat Real Madrid, us, Pool, Dortmund. It can go either way with Juve as well.

When it's repeated I think there is nothing to excuse.

I like that he appears to be a leader back there

The only caveat I would throw in is when comparing him to the great CB's down the years (Ferdinand, Vidic, Carvalho) he's quite a bit behind them so if Vertonghen is the best it just goes to prove what a drop off in terms of top class CB's there's been, already proven by VVD going for 75m and he's not even better than Smalling

I honestly think he is up there with the very best - at least over the past two years. He is real class.

I thought we created a good amount of chances tbh.
Aside from long range efforts there was the Son chance in the second half and one game Kane effort in the first. It’s possible I’ve forgotten some in anger at how we were playing but I mostly remember a lot of shots from twenty yards plus. De Gea didn’t make any particularly stretching saves that I can recall.

Didn’t they have something like 18 attempts last night. They were dangerous and opened us up a good few times. They simply outplayed us.

He's made 2 bad challenges in his entire career. Kane is one of the nicest blokes in football.

This is a grown up conversation, so every player that makes a rash or bad challenge is a "cnut" now? Does that include United players, or just every other team?

It includes everybody. I don't have a problem calling a guy what he is, even if he plays for us. I'd say that is a grown up attitude no  ?

Yeah a lot of pot shots from range. We had 7 or 8 attempts ourselves. Doesn’t mean we created much. That they were better isn’t really in question. I don’t think they created many good chances mind you and the goals scored were gifts.

My interpretation is they toyed with us and at one point had ole’s going in the crowd they ripped us open a good few times. Also Erikson had a shot from 20-25 yards that whistled past the post, just because it’s from distance doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous. Think I saw we created 6 chances.

It’s not really a chance though which is the point I’m making. Having a good effort from distance doesn’t really change that. I wouldn’t say it was a game where De Gea has been stretched in a way you wouldn’t expect. No doubt it was easy for Spurs second half regardless.

Haha - I see someone is butt hurting for sure.
Ha not at all man, Spurs were comfortable and deserved last night. I just find it funny how deluded Liverpool fans come out of the woodwork, must be Huddersfield result:lol:
As I said you lot would know all about conceding.

Come out of the woodwork ? Do you see how many posts I have - if anything that may apply to you but I've never noticed you in the slightest before so can't say, but I never hide. As for conceding - well take a look at the table, there's 3 points and 2-3 goals in the GD column between us. And you're basing everything on that ? ROFL ! Personally I think I'll wait until the final table before I'd dare to sound as arrogant as some of the United posters in this thread. Far too many twists and turns to come and the CL, EL, FAC and LC are going to throw spanners in the works of all teams.
