The useless Lloris cost me 60 euros for a draw. First he tries to rush the attack by throwing it to Wanyama and then the lazy fecker concedes on the near post. 
That was last season though - different time and different situation. Let's talk about it again in a month or two and see how it goes before judging it either way. We lost a derby game at home, that could have easily happened at WHL.
Most people take trophies of any kind as the key to building a winning mentality.
This year winning the league will be a huge ask with us and City looking stronger, and Chelsea showed what they can still do even with half a team out!
We want to win trophies of course we do but if you could choose between a domestic cup or a league title I don't think many people would differ on it. We desperately need to win something.
Thought that was a poor performance from Spurs.

I think they need a more creative CM. Eriksen is the only real creative force in that team, Alli plays a bit further forward. Was surprised he didn't put Winks on for Wanyama tbh.

To be honest, I thought you lot would batter them.
I don't think Wembley was their problem today they were just incredibly predictable. They lacked any width or pace at all and despite protestations otherwise they will miss Walker. When you're struggling to break a team down as they were they need more from the bench to change it and they didn't have that.
Great that they lost this as this'll only reinforce the belief there's a Wembley curse.
Expected more from Spurs today to be honest. Absolute howler from Lloris.

Yep. Just like RAWK writes off every PL season as 'the worst the league has been' every time they come nowhere near winning it. Sour grapes.
I agree with this - I've said it many times but we do lack pace in attacking areas. I really hope we manage to sign somebody who can give us that. We just couldn't get behind Chelsea all match and our lack of pace was a big part of the reason.

In fairness if they play like that every week, they'll win 9/10 games.

The press are gonna love this. Wembley & the transfer deadline approaching, spurs fans can look forward to some juicy speculative journalism in the next week or so.

Wanyama was poor. Would have subbed in Winks for him.
I think the point was the main aim is to win the title and if you fall short trying so be it. Cups are a great side focus to have but it's not the main aim at the start of the season.

Don't see the need to play Dier and Wanyama in the same team, unless you give Dembele full licence to get forward then it's just stifling any creativity from midfield. I haven't seen much of Winks but he deserves a chance to add something different to the team.

I think Winks will have a big part to play for us this season. Was a bit surprised he didn't get a run out today as Wanyama was clearly knackered near the end.
Except for your manager - who's said that it's more important to compete for the PL and CL than to win an actual trophy...
I don't think that is what he said though - he said he would be happy to win a cup but our main aim is to win the title/champions league. I honestly do not see much wrong with that. I could be a fool though, an optimistic auld fool!
Well, with the amount of money at stake for failing to qualify for Europe/Champions League I don't think it's that unreasonable to be honest. It might not sound great from a fans perspective but from a business point of view money is more important than a random trophy.

Didn't lose at home even once last season, and now the first game at home and already one in the bag. Well, a "home" loss.

A lot of teams would struggle to break Chelsea down today, they were near impregnable. Didn't know they had it in them after last weeks horror show at the back.
Spurs were awful. A far cry from the team we saw last season. Distinct lack of pace, little to no movement in midfield and no penetration whatsoever. Very similar to last weeks performance away at Newcastle.
Eriksen was brilliant, though. Best player on the pitch if you ask me, constant movement, intelligent runs off the ball and he played some georgeous passes in behind. Problem is Alli I think, he just isn't up for it right now, don't recall a single worthwhile dribble or through ball all game. Kane was as industrious as ever but his movement was poor.
Poch has work to do.
Yeah we aren't at it yet, I put it down to a general lack of match sharpness and possibly not full fitness yet. We will improve a lot but we need to do it soon and try and get a rhythm going.
I'm not misreading you - I think you've been pretty consistent about wanting to win a trophy unlike some of the other Spurs fans. But I can't see what Pochettino has said about everything but the PL and CL not being a trophy any other way. It's also just a silly thing to say.

Nah, you're not a fool, Balaks, you're a good lad and a great poster.
But I actually think it was essentially a clever lowering of expectations from Pochettino, rather than a statement of ambition... he knows that winning a trophy is harder than 'competing' for the PL - that's why Spurs haven't won one in a decade, despite 'competing' a number of times now.
He knows damn well that winning even the League Cup and finishing 4th would be a better season than finishing 2nd and winning nothing, again.
If Spurs fans are honest they'd all rather win the FA Cup and finish 5th, than finish 2nd again and win nothing.
