The Spurs thread

They're still 2 points away from matching their best PL points tally of 72 (12/13), and they're currently equalling their second best finish of 70 points (09/10).

Hell, they've even finished on 69 points on two occasions in the past 5 years.

If they struggle the last couple games, their final points could look pretty damn average in comparison, it's the poor form of the big clubs which has propelled Tottenham into the title winning position. They've played well, but they've not been record breakingly good.

Be a very rare occasion for so many big clubs to be so poor during the season at the same time.

Spurs will not have a better chance than this one in a very long time.

And Spurs' level is what? Fighting for titles because you've done it once?
Losing with two games to go isn't much of a fight. It's like a fight where one of the boxers was wearing pillows on his fists rather than gloves.

2-0 up and fecked it up.

It's not really a a bottling but they did lose their minds. Seemed more interested in injuring our players than scoring at the end.
This. Unbelievable the way they lost their heads. They'll end up with a couple more bans to go alongside Alli's.

They weren't even fighting for the title here, a made up title race when Leicester was always far ahead.

You don't seem to be moved by United's decline to EL level and the crap state of your squad. Is it resignation, or just head-in-the sand time?

I've seen my team lift the treble, lift the title, lift the CL, whenever I'm sad that we're going through hard times I remember those titles we've amassed and know that we'll get back to that level due to being England's biggest club, one of the very biggest in the world.

I do wonder what you must be thinking of right now though. Your nearly won the title, you can't really reminisce your titles, you're not a big club and you've just fecked up your best shout in years before and to come for the title. On top of that all the myth of your nice team, full of nice people and footballers has just been dispelled tonight. It's like going to church just to find out it's a very well hidden brothel.

How does it make you feel?

I will laugh my ass off if United somehow finish in top 4 (I doubt we will). Glaston's meltdown will be incredible when our terrible season will match their incredible season or exceed it (if we also win FA Cup).

Surely they'll never have a better chance? What's the odds of United, Chelsea, Arsenal and City all performing so relatively poorly at the same time?

Then you've got the likes of Liverpool who's going to get stronger as well.

savage!

Oh we certainly will but just remember that you have bottled the best opportunity you're ever going to have of being champions again, this was it for you and Leicester beat you to it. Enjoy the new stadium, the first round phase of the CL but this bottle job will always bug you because you ain't never coming this close again.

Not at all. Your deluded if you think that Spurs won't have an even stronger squad next season. CL money to spend + the likely further natural improvement of the Prem's youngest squad.

Meanwhile, United will scrabble around yet again, dumping players signed for mega-bucks just last summer, wasting time pursuing players that have bigger fish to fry and splurging out on yet more past-it players looking for one last big-pay day from the biggest charity club in the Prem.

He's always thinking about the time they won League Cup. Or were 1st for a couple of weeks. Oh wait that never happened.

Glaston's responses is the exact reason I didn't want them to win it. 'Europa League is United's level' spoken like Spurs have been title challengers for the past 5 years.

We still have a chance of winning a cup, something you haven't done for about 15 years.

Alternatively we will be back fighting for the title, something you've never done in a Premier League era.

How bullish finishing behind Leicester can possibly make you.

To be honest, their collective hissy fit is a bit of a throw back to the old days when everything wasn't as sanitized as it is today. I found it entertaining. If they had backed it up with a winning goal to boot, it would have been something.

Still, nice to see some fire. I think football's better off for it.

It's pure gold, he's completely lost it. I can see him hitting the keyboard with great force with pure evil hatred in his eyes, screaming out loud.

Your best chance to win the league for 50 years and you fecked it up.

Damn Glaston, how much more can you take today?

Aye wonder what he thinks when he reads he's the reason why people dislike his side, pretty eye opening I would imagine...

The question is Glaston, after watching your team miss out on the league, why is your first instinct to log on to a Manchester United forum of all places and remind us all about "EL being our level"?

Spurs were the most entertaining team this season, by a long way too.
Best team in London at least.

In all seriousness, I do think Spurs will challenge for the league again next season. They already have a very good squad and I doubt they'll lose any of their big players.

They're probably the best bet for top four next season at the moment.

Still clinging to that delusion?
Yep missing out on CL for a single season during rebuilding of a team, knowing well we will soon be back anyway, is something that makes me lose sleep every night. Carry on Glaston boy.

Why the feck is Glaston in this thread posting right now

is he some kind of masochist?

"My team just lost the best chance we've had of winning a league title in my lifetime, I know, I'll go immediately onto a forum where everyone thinks I'm a cnut"
