Tottenham Vs Manchester United

Says a lot about the difference between us really. You were at home & played on the counter. We played quite poorly (without 2 of our best players), but still dominated & deserved a win.
You talk as if playing on the counter at home is somehow bad, when it fact it was a wise tactic when Spurs' two first choice CBs were both missing (King, and Woodgate off very early in the match).

You say you had two of your best players missing, but so did Spurs. You may have dominated more of the match, but you certainly didn't deserve to win. It was a tight game, Spurs defended well and had some good chances to score - it could have gone either way and might well have ended in a 1 -0 defeat for Man. Utd.

Can you rate players from both sides in that ratings thread?

Would like to see the opinion of a Spurs fan.

You talk as if it was a even match, couldve gone either way. united dominated the whole game. i dont really think we deserved to win cus our play in the final third wasnt good enough, but spurs in attack were pathetic.

I talk as if it could have gone either way because that's the truth. Did you somehow not see the several goal chances for Spurs? They included:

* Bentley's flick-up and volley and then later his free kick - both required very good saves from VDS.

* Modric's free header that he directed wide

* Modric's shot that just shaved the bar

* Huddlestone's bullet that might have well have gone in if not for it hitting Pavlyuchenko.

* Lennon's low rocketing shot that VDS parried out to his left.

* At least one free-for-all melee in your box when the ball could have gone anywhere.

Nor did you dominate "the whole game". The best that can be said is that you dominated the majority of it, but that's not so surprising given that Spurs set out to play on the counter. And nor did you do very much with the possession you had besides win lots of corners and play it around in midfield to no great effect.

I kinda hoped you would score, then we would have stepped up a gear and put you to the sword.

2nd half Spurs could barely get hold of the ball - if United had been more direct in the final third, it would have been 3 points for the away team. As it was, yet another game United control yet dont get a win from. Wouldnt go as far to say it could of gone either way, but I certainly dont think the game should have been goal less.

Come on now -

Stop clutching at straws.

You had a few chances yes, so did we. To included a blocked shot is silly.

Vidic, Berbatov and Rio should have all done better with free headers, and there were a couple of scrambles in your own box. Gomes saved you on a couple of ocassions - Giggs' free kick, and Ronaldos cross/shot that he parried away before Berbatov could get there. Im not going to list all our chances but there were enough.
