Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

What do you think is behind Neymar's whole PSG escapade? He's playing for Barcelona, and he has a contract until 2021. Is he REALLY that unhappy playing 'in the shadow' of Suarez and Messi? I doubt it.

This definitely whiffs of media sensationalism.
Messi just got a pay rise, so it's obvious tbh.

Surely, in terms of profit, if United had a year where they didn't buy or sell a single player, they would have the highest net profit in English football. The fact we spend a load on players means that the end of year accounts show only a modest 'profit'.

Are you even the most profitable club in the Prem (never mind the world)?

Over the last two seasons for which there are published accounts (as far as I'm aware) - 2014-15 + 2015-16 - Spurs made more profits than United: £50m vs £45m. Even Leicester City made only £3m less profit than United over that period.

Of course there may be more recently published accounts of which I'm not aware ...

Even in that article, we are ahead when we consider the year ending August 31, 2015. We have a 45 mil profit compared to Spurs' 38 mil. In any case, the turnover is a big factor here. Our profits are less(er) because we have the ability to spend big and oay very good wages. So if we want to spend again, it will depend on our turnover. The profit number is as a result of our spending, not because we aren't able to generate revenue. Our wages are more than your turnover. Does that not simply make thr point we shop in different markets?

Glaston either doesn't understand this simple point or is being obtuse to derail a thread which is about transfer tweets.

He, his father and their inner circle are trying to maximise profit and exposure of the Neymar brand maybe? Paris may even be a step forward, in that respect, compared to Barcelona.

He should come to United then

He will get double his current pay and get acknowledged more, giving him more of a chance to win the Ballon D'or. That being said, I don't see him leaving.

If the next post(s) after this doesn't contain a transfer tweet it'll be deleted until there is one that does.

Who is the other grinning man? Is it the other half of the duo who worked at Barca? You know, the ones you use words like 'holistic' and 'organic' when talking about City's future?
Yeah. Ferran Soriano. Usually it is Txiki Begiristain in the pics.

They paid about 130m on full backs this season, but they are now supposed to be a complete team in most aspects and can challenge and win the league even without Sanchez.

Of course if we were the ones who were spending these crazy numbers on full backs, Caf will be moaning about how we're overpaying for each player and how they don't deserve these prices..etc.

Pay if you want to get your player, otherwise don't complain.

Woody better get the grip on and deliver those 2 players Mourinho is asking for. We need to plug the holes by the time the US tour is over so they could get minutes in the European friendlies and gel with the rest of the boys.
City are doing well reconstructing their squad, albeit the money spent, and we could find ourselves chasing them in the title race.
I know market is difficult and all that, but we want to be competitive.
So far we are a touch short of a really well balanced squad that can rival everyone in the PL.

Carlo Ancelotti admits Manchester United have 'a possibility' of signing Renato Sanches

Is it foolish of me to ask if he even mentioned us?

EDIT  Figures. The press really are absolutely f*cking shameless.

Dude, you are trying too hard. Yes, we are the most profitable team (https://www.forbes.com/soccer-valuations/list/#tab:overall) and Spurs are the 10th most profitable club. You are deluded if you seriously think that Spurs are financially stronger than Man Utd.

He doesn't even mention us. Click bait.

Asked about the Old Trafford’s side reported interest in Sanches, he said: “At this time, he’s training with us. We have to make a decision. A move could be a possibility but there is also a chance he could stay with us for the season.

He replies to a question asking about our interest, he doesn't mention our name but it's not complete clickbait

inter is unbelivable really. never seen anything like the shitshow they are pulling off.

i really rate perisic and want him here as i think he is what we need but this is getting beyoung ridiculous. how can they think he is worth that much and want martial on top of that? surely they are taking the piss and dont want to sell at all?
