Top scorer in portugese league, we are being robbed.Seriously ? I'd be very surprised if Benfica paid us anything near that.

Yeah like that would happen, if Arsenal try to drive any sort of hard bargain for Vermaelen we should just tell them to stick it. Good player but not worth haggling over.

He wasn't top scorer Jackson Martinez was, then Derley, Martins, Lima, Montero & Rondon all scored more than Bebe too.
Wasn't he top Portugese scorer in the Portugese league?
When you look at the quality of strikers Portugal have and plus the number of decent Portugese players playing in Portugal, that really really is not a big feat.Wasn't he top Portugese scorer in the Portugese league?
Does it matter? Woodward says last year we got linked to over 200 players. You want a denial every time the paper links us with somebody?Do United ever deny rumours? Im seeing the likes of Bayern/Barca etc alreays saying no we wont signing player A or player A isn't in our plans. United? nearly everyone is linked to us and we never get an official saying otherwise.

I thought Fergie came out to the press that we was close to signing him? And that was said before De Gea went to the Euro's.Fergie denied the De Gea rumours, and then signed him a week later......
The point was under Sir Alex we balanced bringing in players through the academy, developing young players bought from outside and also being succesful more than Madrid in last decade or so in a richer and more competitive league with higher standards now after Oil money.
I don't wanna debate the merits of Cleverley here but he is definitely good enough to be a squad player at United and was better than what he has been last year or so. As for Madrid, Jese is pretty good talent and so is Isco and Illaramendi who they spunked so much cash on last summer and Di Maria just had his best season for them in a crucial tactical role. But they went and spunked money on Kroos and Rodriguez both who will now block these and in Rodriguez' case aren't necessarily that much better either. 1 or 2 times, this could be understood in special circumstances and even more so if the players were really young but they do it season after season and it's basically their policy.
Jese is injured right now but will end up leaving next year or so. Morata has already left for Juve. Carvajal is basically the only one and he came back because he was cheap on buyback for a defender and they wanted to spend on Bale + Isco/Illaramendi.
Bild: Even w/ a significantly higher offer from MUFC, "0.0%" chance of BVB selling Hummels. Klopp & Mats' dad agree, not going to happen
Madrid have a similar model in terms of spending big on young Spanish talent like Ramos, Isco, Illara etc just as we try to do with the likes of Rooney, Rio and Shaw. I bet everyone would be attacking Real if they spent £27m on a young Spanish full-back.
The only difference is that when they are not putting the likes of Jese, Morata, Cassillas, Carvajal, Raul etc in there team, they choose to add Ronaldos and Bales ad opposed to Youngs and Valencias. This is the right model. Our success has gotten us off the hook recently for recruiting players that never had any business being at United. We sign Ashley Young, so we're cooler than Real Madrid who wouldn't ever sign Ashley Young?
They are definitely more lavish than us, but if you can afford it, I don't see why a team would intentionally go into the market to buy sub-standard footballers. I will never get it. It is some sort of trying to be cool or different thing. Unless we are financially challenged, why on earth would a team sell Ronaldo and buy Valencia instead of say, Ribery? logically, it makes no sense. A team should not be criticised for buying top players. Real should only be criticised for buying the ones they don't need, but not for buying Bale instead of Young when they decide they want a winger. Why wouldn't they?
delighted with this.
Why?
Ridiculous rumors and fruitless pursuits shoukd be stamped into the ground anf pissed and shat over asap. No time for that. Why?
He's 'delighted' with every player which is ruled out of a move here.

Not so much of a professor of football is heHe's 'delighted' with every player which is ruled out of a move here.
Vidal (purely because Juvrntus have not been emphatic about him and the player himself seemingly open to leaving... whilst the likes of Madrid and co seem busy with other targets), de Jong, Vermaelen or de Vrij.So who do you suggest we pursue then?
delighted with this.
So is he just weird or a Liverpool/City fan? I know he has a "professor" gimmick.

Manchester United are prepared to offer €50m (£39.5m) for Arturo Vidal with a salary of €6m (£4.7m) per season. [Tuttosport] #MUFC
Yeah, who'd want two class players at the club.
Instead of 'preparing' to offer, why don't we just offer?, or am i looking at it too easily lol
Saying we are "prepared" to offer is different from saying we are "preparing" to offer.
Prepared is much more concrete, in my opinion.
