UK Riots (with the exception of Manchester which has its own thread)

Correlation or causation?

this is from Sky News site

Later unconfirmed reports indicate incidents in Walthamstow Central, Chingford and Leyton in the northeast areas of London.
Other unconfirmed reports have emerged of stores in Brixton, south London apparently being looted.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed six units were fighting a store fire in Brixton Road.
Photos have been posted on Twitter apparently of looters, and of a Foot Locker store on fire.
One Brixton resident told Sky News: "We are watching hundreds of people walking up the street (Effra Road) with boxes of stuff, there is shouting and police helicopters but no sign of police."

Helicopters now.....I might pop out and see how the High Street's doing. I reckon I could get Clapham going pretty quickly.

Another 2 Helicopters in the last few minutes......Now's probably a good time to commit a minor crime, or a domestic assault...Or just Graf the shit out of something.

Where are you getting this from?

To be fair, I saw a few riot vans down here on the way back from the game ...I think they've been preparing for it to kick off darn sarf. I might go and have a wander to Effra tomorrow. Survey the damage.

They've set fire to the Nandos on Stockwell Road now apparently....This is fecking awful. The next Nandos down is my one, it'll be twice as packed tomorrow.

Is this all because Modric said he wanted to leave?

Just read the thread. This all seems a bit pointless.

Is Leytonstone alright? If not I'll tell my mum to get herself down to Tescos and blag some donuts an' shit.

And what does it matter if Duggan didn't open fire but Police did?

Nothing. Why did he have a firearm?

Uh, sorry, what? Of course it matters you plonk. It's kind of crucial to answering some of the important questions over a police shooting.

Why are you trying to defend the police officers involved when you have no more idea what happened than the rest of us? Just wait for the investigation, that's what the police are saying to do.

He's a copper isn't he? It's pretty natural he'd want to defend fellow officers(not saying he is right/wrong) just that it is understandable.

Will be interesting to see what the place looks like. I pass through the town on my way to work.

should probably just change this thread title to "welcome to london" by now

Of course it matters, not to mention the fact that it's been reported as him shooting a police officer, when it appears that was just another police officer....

I read that three shots were fired and one was from Duggan's gun.

Radio station reporting all the news, that the actual news are refusing to report.

LBC 97.3

McDonalds was looted in the morning, the looters made themselves breakfast....

A load of videos of the 16 year old girl who was apparently battered by police have surfaced, it's hard to tell what's going on apart from police swarming a person, and some other girl screaming like a weirdo.

Just making the point that he doesn't have had to actually open fire in order for him to be lawfully killed.

ruining businesses and putting more people on the dole, great way to stick it back to the cops

retards

I feel sorry for the police, most of them are just doing their job. It's not their fault people act like cnuts, they try and deal with it and get criticized.
