UK Riots (with the exception of Manchester which has its own thread)

GMP are keeping it quiet, mates and twitter, i've heard it from.

Mates fair enough. I think there's a lot of BS on twitter.

I called the missus as she left work in pic gardens at 5 and she said there were loads of police out and a lot of shops had closed but there was nothing going on.

Never has a riot cop looked so good, yet so dangerous.

And of course, she made sure to get that all important eyeliner on, who said, you couldn't look good while crushing skulls :)

Reports Millwall and Charlton "firms" are together in Eltham pubs to protect the area.

Millwall were in Croydon earlier but got moved on.

They aren't protecting in a good way - it is race related.

You don't say

The EDL would probably be putting on a show of resistance too, if it weren't for the fact that all their members were out looting...

Each time you post in this thread you make less sense.

Always about race though. Every time.
3 of my 29 posts in this thread are about race. (technically 4 in 30 if you include this, which you probably will)

Any more fachts?

Friend of mine works at Toyota in Salford and had to be escorted from work by TAU, cars on forecourt smashed up by gangs of hooded cnuts

These are not race riots but it does seem the vast majority of looters are black. Or is this just the media angle?

Probably didn't help that she started off calling him 'Marcus Dowe' and finished by accusing him of being a rioter...

I've heard some unbelievably retarded reporters from the BBC over the past few days, it's as if this they are trying to compete with the idiocy on the streets.

I've been thinking the same thing, it's like they're trying to poach sky news viewers

Also, why are they obsessed with showing old footage? Most of yesterday just revolved around showing looped footage of events six hours earlier. I turned onto Sky and they had a constant stream of live footage in different areas, as well as updates on what was happening in a significant number of areas that BBC never mentioned.

Just when I thought Sky had raised the bar, a newsreader came on near midnight to tell us about outbreaks in new areas, like Croydon, and Birmingham, which actually happened anywhere between 4-7 hours earlier. She clearly didn't know about them earlier on, she was barely making any sense.

Pogue's gone quiet... multiquote bonanza pending?

IMO the Beeb have been absolutely shite during this. EDIT - what Hectic sez above.

I find the whole immigration/race angle very interesting. Whenever something like that happens, there's a bunch liberal minded folks with good intentions who start talking about institutionalized racism, police brutality and targeting the minorities, economic hardship that's common to the areas these troublemakers come from, etc etc.

I wonder though what would happen to these scumbags if they tried doing these things back in the home countries where their families came from to the UK. I can guarantee you they used to live in a shithole with no government support system to speak of and the law enforcement they had to deal with makes the worst British policeman look like a Santa Clause by comparison.

I made that first point yesterday and was called weird.

Quite probably. 3 in 29 is a fair ratio for a current event with began under the pretext of protests against police racism I would have thought.

For the nth time, look at the photos, the streets are full of white English as well as minorities.

But to take your rhetorical question seriously (I don't know why), well it depends where they're from. In Russia they'd be beaten senseless in a police cell, in China they'd probably be executed, in Zimbabwe they'd get a state pension, in Somalia it's just called 'shopping'.

They are doing it in their home countries. Sheer criminality with no actual cause there's a unique Britishness to it.
