Great to see Howard come back so strong after that free kick.

Nice penalty by Diego as well. I've always thought Diego's better when he doesn't have too much time to think, but I thought he showed a lot of composure.

As for Ruud, well...he's allowed one miss every 2 years. :)

Gotta say we deserved the win. Howard makes his name and Djemba looked really promising. I know it's only one game but he got stuck in, moved the ball well, dribbled well, ran well and fought all the time. Another star is being born

Mikky's a fair choice for MotM. Fortune, Keano, and Scholes were all excellent as well. Ruud was very good, Diego looked quite good playing deeper, and Jim Pakistan was wonderful. I have a very good feeling about him.

Agree with that, except Ruud, who I don't think had a good game, looked tired. We absolutely need some sort of cover for him. Viduka?

Well, Ruud was quiet by his standards, but I thought he looked dangerous when he did get the ball.

Djemba Djemba impressed. Strong and competitive of course like we were lead to believe, but passes the ball well and gets forward with it too.
He looks like a robust confident player who can handle the Premiership no problem.
Nicky Butt will have his work cut out to keep him out of the side.

Maybe we're just spoiled by Ruud putting in world class performances week in week out...

Very impressed with Howard and Pakistan so far.

I still feel we need that extra spark in midifeld. Our distribution was erratic at times and I would still like to see a player like Aimar helping us to unlock defences.
