Yep. We also don't know their condition from three days ago, which might have been close to full fitness anyhow.

With Ricardo and Carroll around, I don't think Fergie would have taken chances with a non full fit Barthez for a league cup match.

Started off in Cup match style, too much aerial ball rather than on the deck play for my liking. Silvestre just saved us, getting in his head as Andy Cole got ready to shoot.

Think we'll create plenty of chances tonight, just hope our finishing is better than it has been. Blackburn corner as Rio blocked a Cole shot.
 
Dunn shoots high from outside the box. Gillespie to come on, for Dunn I think as he picked up an injury early in the match.
