Tugay is the vital player for Blackburn. If he can control the play, which he is pretty much right now, they are a far better team.

Alright, but Rio's had more to do so far. We're looking ok at the back, most exposed on the break. Midfield could be a little more in control, but Veron has been creating well, Phil perhaps hasn't started off his best though, but not bad.

9 minutes to go until half time - I tell you what, the ref's got his spotters badge this half. The ball came at him earlier in the second post, but he's in the wide awake club to stop a Blackburn attack ;)

ah one more corner finds the other teams heads, why doesnt he chip it in for a change, instead of hoofing it?

Dull patch at the moment.

Just waiting for me double chocolate gateau to de-frost. Another 20 minutes...

i hear ruuds interested in playinmg in the nfl!! Its noooooo gooooood

In a race between Cole and Barthez to reach an over the top ball, Fab just reaches it in time and boots down field. Few clear cut chances, but a lot of half chances so far for both sides. We've got to do better up front though.

It's so different on Five Live than it is on manutd.com - Alan Green is a tw@t

"This has been a virtually incident free half"

and Mark Lawrenson is a puff

Why does the manutd.com link keep breaking down?

We're actually competing well and look hungry, but our play hasn't had much patience, very direct, not enough quality or players in the box.

17 year old McEveley was booked for tackle on Beckham, since the OT faithful wanted to know who he was. ;)

Damn it Ruud, he should have scored that, he was near enough the penalty spot in a one on one but he hit at the goalie. HT 0-0.

sidsutton / ste_grassham - tomatoe, tomartoe - it's all the same to me
;)

Not very exciting first half, all in all.

Fergie needs to get the hairdryer out and get the players warmed up!!

I'm the one about to eat the gateau

ste_grassham is still the fat cnut though

Actually I think they need calming down, and need to keep their cool a bit more, improve their nerve in front of goal and composure with their final ball.

Right, it's half time and we're drawing 0-0, let's get some songs going before the second half

Build a bonfire,
build a bonfire,
put the scousers on the top,
put Man City in the middle,
and then burn the fcuking lot

c'mon reds, all together now

We've managed purpose without Keano quite well earlier this season. So that's no excuse.

Why don't we play someone up alongside Ruud, We be at least one up by now

not really causing they crap defence many problems

Phil is doing a competent holding job in midfield. The back 5 are solid too.

As is the problem lately, it's the attacking players who are not doing enough so far. becks looks most likely to producce something.

Its just poor finishing again, though we've not had as many chances as we normally do either, which has been a surprise. We need to get some goals at home, more than one imo.
