You're right, he played for the local club Eik Tønsberg when he first broke into the National team in the early 90's - as a right winger

Expectations can never get too high because we are expected to win the title. I think it'd be better to go into the season high on confidence myself.

and feck off Plech!

;)

Just make sure they aren´t going into the season with overconfidence. Bolton are fecking due a hammering at OT.

OLE's doing everything else right but his crosses have not been of a high standard

Do you know any good Eik Tønsberg chants? Course there's 'We hate the Scousers, and City of course (and Eik Tønsberg!!!)'.

Howard: Impressive start so far; though he's had little to do, he's done it well. Very verbal, doesn't looked phased by the occasion or the opposition, and his distribution looks very good.

Phil has, as I said earlier, looked very good going forward down the right, while Quinton has looked composed at left back, and a little less adventurous than last time. The central defenders have done what little work they've had well. Rio looks excellent so far in the preseason.

Keano has been excellent in midfield, he is confining himself to a somewhat more defensive role, but he is playing that role superbly, covering all positions in his half of the pitch. I would be thrilled if we can get this kind of performance from him on a regular basis these season.

No one has stood out in the attack, but as a whole they have been fantastic so far. Seba is pulling all the strings, putting in many good passes. The forward four are moving around a lot and swapping positions, and it's clearly giving the Juve defense all sorts of trouble.

Keep it up lads!

We should buy him back, he can be Beckham's successor! ;)

Apparently, the attendance is 80K........

Highest ever for that stadium...

Meanwhile....tickets are hard to shift for the Milan-Juve match.

They only come to see....United!

"Stay tight stay tight Rio shitpipe spumegizzard ocelot feckfest. Sorry. Played Phil, you cnut."

Sorry.

Good...Buffon is being subbed for Juventus. We should score a couple more now.

The new keeper looks old and a wee bit crazy.

Second half underway, a keeper change for Juve, United makes no changes.

This match is being treated seriously by both sides.

I think we really miss Becks in that area. Still the boys are fighting for every ball, passing really well and the defense looks solid.

I agree with you. P. Neville had plenty of space but he only made few good crosses. Him and Ole were able to completly dominate the right side. The italians are not adjusting properly for the runs that phil is making.

May not like us much but you have to admit our goalkeeper has been impressive, so maybe that will count for something.

He's ours now though.

I am surpised to see that the majority of the fans in the stands are United fans. The number of yanks with itlaian heritage in that area of US is huge, but apparently didn't find out about the game early enough :)

Every game so far the press has said they expect the opposition to have more fans. Tossers. We're the only big club out there on this tour.

Don't forget, Howard played for the NY/NJ Metrostars.

One thing that I especialy liked about the first half is the fact that we played very physical game. Blody juve players were getting kicked around all the time. Fortune on the left, Rio made few spin movez, Keano dominated the middle, and Scholsey also had some nice tackles.

I doubt Howard having played for the Metrostars really brought too many people to the game. I'm surprised to hear this is the highest attended game ever at the Meadowlands...............I doubt it. They've had other sellouts there.

And Howard kicks azz!
