United and Vodafone to end the Sponsorship deal at the end of the season. (Sky News)

I see, is that good or bad for us?

There are always other sponsors willing to queue up for our services.

Got to be good news, Man Utd is a very strong trade mark and a new negotiation with another sponsor will bring a pile of money to buy us a bright future!

Apparently, following some research, the club believes far greater financial deals are available to the "most iconic shirt in world football".

Apparently Vodafone are to sponsor the whole Champions League - hence they are dropping Utd. It isn't necassarily bad news for the Glazers then - thy probably get paid a lump sum to break the current contract and I wuld think there ar eplenty of sponsors willing to stick their tatty logo on the shirts.

I'm thinking no sponsor like Barca.

I saw Sharp and Addidas on the advertising boardings last night.

VODAFONE ANNOUNCES NEW FOOTBALL SPONSORSHIP

Vodafone today announces an exciting and exclusive three year agreement to

The agreement is central to Vodafone's global sponsorship strategy
and reinforces the company's long term commitment to football. This new

affiliates to provide their customers with access to the world's largest and
most prestigious club competition.

The partnership will enable Vodafone to deliver content including video
highlights packages and goal alerts from all UEFA Champions League matches to
football fans on the Vodafone live! with 3G consumer service.

The new agreement with UEFA Champions League has two elements:

Sponsorship - In addition to becoming an official partner and the official
mobile network to the UEFA Champions League, Vodafone will be entitled to
significant branding and hosting rights, as well as a substantial broadcast
sponsorship package.

Content - Building on Vodafone's existing UEFA Champions League content,
highlights include in match video goal alerts, full time video highlights,
preview packages, backed up with a comprehensive official text and data service
on Vodafone live! with 3G.

Commenting on the new agreement Peter Bamford, Vodafone's Chief Marketing
Officer said, "This new and exclusive partnership with the UEFA Champions
League, allows us to build on and consolidate our successful association with
football. The UEFA Champions League offers Vodafone two new benefits: firstly it
extends Vodafone's football relevance to supporters around the world and
secondly it offers fans access to unique and compelling content through the
Vodafone network, both of which will increase our brand awareness and drive
revenue."

How about no logos, like Barca?

Twas what I was thinking above. Last season some of our training tops were the same pattern of Barca's home kit, only in our colors.

This company might want to consider putting it's logo on our shirts.

I liked it when we were Sharp.

Pun intended, but I did.

Difference is Barca have never had a sponsor on their shirt whereas Man Utd sold their soul a long time ago to the capitalistic society.

can see an imminent name change for old trafford, or at least a sponsor of it. sponsoring the champions league isn't exactly 'in new, exciting areas' is it? so thats one area i think they could be moving onto. vodafone arena perhaps? looks like the money grabbing from the glazers has finally started.
