Decent half. We need to start capitizing on Watfords mistakes, though.

Glad Memphis scored. Great goal. Been good today. Also think Lingards movement has been fantastic.

Schweinsteiger looks off the pace today. He looks hurried, which isn't usual for him.

Dont know if it is the 352 formation that is generally crap or our players cant play it, but we should have brought on Pereira and gone for the kill.

3.5.2 is crippling our attack. We can't get the overlap fast enough because the wingbacks can't get there. Why are we playing 3.5.2?

Given our injuries and the players available on the bench, we haven't got a lot of options. It has been a pretty competent performance overall.

Lingard, Mata & Schweinsteiger have all been poor today.

Hopefully we manage to grab another goal or two after the break and give some minutes to Rashford/ Goss/ Pereira. Can't see it happening though, since we're lacking pace and incisiveness in the final third.

Memphis and Lingard are as quick as any of our players apart from Rooney.

Schweinsteiger is nearly everywhere on the pitch. His working rate is impressive. However, his decisions are suboptimal today. Still good to have him.

Mata has been ok I though, a couple of sloppy passes but generally decent

    Delighted for Memphis

No idea why he went to 3-5-2

    Lvg works in mysterious ways

    Losing too many balls unnecessarily.

Jesse is such a lovely footballer to watch

    Schweini and Morgan excellent

Mata will score and buy himself some time, like he always seems to when he's on a shit run of games.

    What position does Rashford play?

This pitch is completely dead. We'd do very well to get a win here, all things considered.

It looks like we have been playing on the counter since the substitution and formation change. Our passing has gone to shit.

I know Basti's touch hasn't been great this game, but he's been very important to our pressing game... Keep it balanced, guys.

It's not bad but we've certainly lost a lot since taking Herrera off. He was having a very good game...

Yeah, it's a pain in the arse, but what can you do? I remember the injury crisis' we used to go through under SAF but we always adapted and grinded out results. This team doesn't look all that different in that aspect.

Gomes plays like he's got split personalities; one is actually a very good goalkeeper and the other is a 70 year old grandmother called Margaret who has no idea what she's doing there. He'll be playing an absolute blinder until Margaret comes to the fore as a tame shot heads towards him.

Mata is playing not so good, and haven't seen much of Lingard as well.

Hope we score second and kill them off!

I'd rather we'd replace Herrera with Pereira to be honest. I hate the 3-5-2 formation. Far too defensive.

But we've been playing well and I hope Mata steps up.

We don't look a threat on the break to capitalize on their mistakes but we also don't like conceding, hopefully we keep it tight and see the second half through.

Memphis and Lingard are as quick as any of our players apart from Rooney.

I would say that Martial is comfortably quicker than all of them.

Btw we didn't had any other option apart from 3-5-2

Apart from Pereira, we didn't had any other midfield option and he's too inexperienced to bring in away from home. If we had continued our starting formation then our midfield would've been Blind and both Schweins which would've been too defensive.

Another option could've been though too Jones at right back. Rojo at center back. Young at right wing.

    Actually meant Martial.

Memphis looks very good. Herrera was superb before going off, that is a major blow to us.

Lingard hasn't been particularly great but he doesn't at all look out of place. I'm very happy with him.

Young is having a poor game defensively. He's been decent going forward but we should put Darmian in and return to 4 in the back.

For all of the flack that Rooney gets, I think Mata has been absolutely crap in recent games. It's very interesting that we have young, pacey players up front today and Mata looks a step behind everyone. His passing and decision-making have also been terrible.

We controlled that for the most part, apart from 1 or 2 attacks where they got at us (but still didnt trouble DDG). If we continue, we will win this (and probably get a second).

Herreras injury was a blow as it has weakened our passing in the final third unfortunately.

    I remember very well.

A blend of brilliance and sloppiness.

I think him and Craig Gordon were the 3rd and 4th most expensive goalkeepers ever in 2008 after Buffon and Peruzzi.

2008 what a summer to be a keeper

Mata is mostly a useless passenger again.

Yeah Mata is the worst player ever to wear a Man Utd shirt...

No seriously, stop being silly. He's not having a great game but a 'useless passenger again'. Very dumb thing to say unles it was a joke that went clean over my head.

Well on top - Unimpressed by Watford's defence. It would be unthinkable not to take all 3 points.

    good analysis

Going 3-5-2 was pointless, if he was bringing Rojo on could of just moved Blind into midfield for Herrera and played Rojo left back. Or ideally, bring on Periera.

So what you are saying is there are options then?
