Why even say top 5 at all? He clearly isn't in the top 5, and nobody in the right mind would suggest he is. Top 10 is debatable. Top 15 is fair enough.

Top 5 is incorrect but he's definitely top 10 atleast.
I honestly can't think of anymore strikers better than him than the ones you mentioned.
Top 5 is debatable.
Ibrahimovic, Pato, Benzema, RvP, Higuain, Forlan would all stick their hand up I'm sure.
Messi and Ronaldo also play centrally often. So too Robinho.
He came from Italy! To manage Man City!![]()
Attitude, connection with team mates?
It's confusing how much running around aimlessly on the pitch can show for all these things.
For one, Berbatov has never complained during his time with us. Despite being not picked for our bigger games, he's got on with his game and tried to break into the team. His attitude is brilliant, his demeanour on the pitch might not reflect that, but he obviously cares about the team and his game. Also, all the players love Berbatov. Look back at the Community Shield when he scored that lob, the whole of the team went to congratulate him.
Tevez, on the other hand was a moaning git. Despite getting 30+ appearances in the second season with us, he still complained about lack of game time. He often spoke publicly about that and getting a new contract. Don't forget that ridiculous celebration with his ears when he scored against City. Great attitude, right?
They both have different styles of play. But, do no get confused between attitude and running around chasing after the ball. Common mistake.

Tevez scored. When Tevez scores it becomes a compare and contrast thread.I thought this was a thread about weekend football?

Top 10 for me
1) Eto`o
2) Villa
3) Drogba
4) Rooney
5) Ibrahimovic
6) Torres
7) Higuain
8) Tevez
9) Dzeko
10) Forlan
First of all I'm OBVIOUSLY talking about his attitud on the pitch, he works much harder than Berbatov, I don't care if he complained too much, in the pitch he always showed what a great and fantastic player he is.
Also, all the players love Tevez too just look how he goes and says hi to all of them after the derbies, what kind of argument is that? Are we talking about who is the best player or who is the best friend?
And if you think all the Tevez does is "running around cashing after the ball" I conclude you have never watched him play. Simple as that.

Those 3 maybe but Benzema? Not a chance. He plays 10 mins a game and has done absolutely nothing since leaving Lyon.
RvP again is a great player but forever injured so it's unfair to put him above Tevez. Higuain is a decent finisher but I honestly don't think he offers as much as Tevez. Tevez would do an equally good job if he was at Madrid imo. And well Messi and Ronaldo do play centrally but their really not classed as strikers and Robinho has been no where as good as Tevez in forever.
Tevez might not be top 5 but he most definitely is top 10 in the world. And I would take him over Ibra purely because he performs on the big stage and Ibra just never does that.

sorry but Rooney shouldn't be anywhere in the top lists, his form is fecking rubbish ever since he got injured against bayern.
Okay then Carroll should be on the list coz he´s scored a lot of goals since March 2010.sorry but Rooney shouldn't be anywhere in the top lists, his form is fecking rubbish ever since he got injured against bayern.

You don't care what shit he talked about our manager? He was disrespectful and that's all there is to it. No matter what gripes he had, he shouldn't have spoken so publicly about it, and about the manager at that. Also, yes he talks to a few players but there's also a few players who don't give a feck about him. Rafael tangled with him the other week, that whole thing with Neville and didn't Rio say something about him at one point? Something about his lack of effort in training I think.
When, at United did he ever show what a great and fantastic player he was? Nonsense! He showed he was a grafter who could work at a team like us but he never once showed world class potential
Form is temporary, Class permanent.sorry but Rooney shouldn't be anywhere in the top lists, his form is fecking rubbish ever since he got injured against bayern.
RvP is a considerably better player when not injured. Higuain is a proper striker with a far superior record at international level.
Dzeko is another. Arguably Suarez and Fabiano, although I'd rather Tevez to the latter two myself.
Just because people don't classify Messi or Ronaldo as strikers doesn't mean they aren't.
Benzema is more talented but admittedly isn't proving it yet. I'd had him to the long list of young strikers more talented than Tevez and will undoubtedly surpass him in the coming years. Muller is another, and we have a couple here at OT too.
When a player is going through a rough patch, as a supporter you should route for your player and get behind them. It's not as if Berbatov has slated the club, the manager, the players of anyone. All he's ever done is talked about Manchester United in very high regard. Is that not enough to earn respect.
Oh sorry, I forgot he doesn't chase every loose ball around the pitch.![]()
If you really think that is true, I just can't keep discussing with you because you just seem to have no memory at all.
I know, it's every bloody time.
Yes, let's swap our 7 goal striker for their 8 goal striker because clearly, he's streets ahead.
Easy way to get out of responding to the rest of my post I guess?

The 30m price tag was too heavy to pay for him
By the way, I think now in City he's showing he's 30m price tag was just enough for him.
