West Bromwich Albion vs. Manchester United

Hope to see some better fluency after the break, our play is still so disjointed in the final third.

Also need to stop giving away fouls in terrible positions.

He hasn't been too bad but he's so clumsy and he's not that great of a passer. Says it all when people are pleased with this I think

He isn't a great passer, no, but every time he gets it he looks to pass it forward. It's a nice change to what we see from some of the others.

Keeps giving it away, and being terribly clumsy. So little composure compared to the way the others have been playing, which has actually been pretty good.

Both Januzaj and Rooney have given it away far more times, same goes for Rafael.

Funnily enough, as little mobile as our midfield is, it's definitely doing it's job.

It's the same with him always, the reason why I never really rated him. On the ball he doesn't really do anything, he's showing a bit of urgency at least but he just isn't that good.

Good set piece for the goal but West Brom have had a couple of chances as well, not exactly stirring stuff and we look a little clumsy defensively with Jones and fellaini being rash.

We'll have to inspect the video replay closely. In real time it looked ball to hand.

Ugly match but we're leading so who cares.Rooney and RVP have been both equally shit IMHO.Rooney is a very clumsy player  and RVP keeps the ball for way too long.

Rooney and Jones (aside from the goal) have been so poor.

RvP and Rooney just looking so flat.

Great to see Rafael back.

Mata and Januzaj are going to be a great combination.

Ref's awful

Agree. RVP and Rooney in the current structure just don't work together.

Foster has the worst concentration of any keeper in the league. He's just a really thick individual

Other than the stupid fouls, Fellaini's been rather good. Interesting to note how he's letting Carrick do the sitting and he's surging past him with or without the ball in every single attack. Mata and Januzaj look like they'll create something every time they get the ball. Rooney poor. RVP held it up well, hasn't really had a chance yet. Jones has had a 'mare other thank the goal. Oh and I've missed Rafael!

Rooney has been far worse. Januzaj too.

Fellaini has been okay (except this stupid foul in the end)

Rooney ok maybe, I actually had forgotten he was playing but Janzaj hasnt been that bad I thought, some of his interplay was good.

Hopefully he can push on and grab a few goals in the second half.

Game still on edge, decent first half. WBA have improved since we scored but that was to be expected, hopefully we'll be able to get a second and maybe even a third but the way our season is going they will get an equaliser late on. Fellaini has been OK, better than the last United performance of Cleverley and Fletcher. It's refreshing to see an actual style of play though. The goal came from Mata cutting inside which left space for Rafael to get forward. Some great offensive play for him to win the free kick and then a decent delivery and finish from Jones. If the commentators are to be believed Moyes told Rafael half way through the half to get forward more and it resulted in a goal... tactical genius, or something.

RVP saw a lot more of the ball that half; maybe those comments of his made Moyes take notice. Rooney's been below par though.

7/10 that half. I like what I saw, some attempts at intricate play even though they didn't come off it has been good to see. Van Persie has been the best player on the pitch. Felliani, Rafael and Mata have stood out for me too.

Things I noticed:

Januzaj's composure on the ball is great but he slowed us down at times, he hods on to the ball a bit too long.

Carrick always aims to find a team mate, he doesn't do just booting it out. Anichebe almost scored from one of these instances.

Mata has been good.

Wazza has been quiet.

Jones has been off the pace.

One instance we were in West Brom's half and Carrick had the ball near the halfway line everyone else was in and around their box until Mata dropped into the no.10 area. That is shocking and has been a bad habit all year.

Overall very positive.

Fellaini has given the ball away the second least in the team.

Not sure what the composure stuff is about, he can look clumsy but he played some clever passes forward throughout that half.

Yeah, with him he at least shows some urgency and the intent to do something, unfortunately I just don't think he's that good really. He's got the right mentality to make things happen just not the ability to match.

Its not been great but definitely better than some of the dross we've served up this season.

Rooney's been poor though, agreed.

I know some of you think hes been good but Fellaini has been your worst player this half.

A few are a bit blinded by a need to defend Fellaini as a warped defence of Moyes so not surprising. He is just too clumsy for a central midfielder.

Sorry to break the news, but it was not deliberate. No handball.

Foster has the worst concentration of any keeper in the league. He's just a really thick individual

Yep, I think he just misjudged the whole thing and there was zero intent. I know ball to hand when you are talking about a keeper is absurd, but I think that's what happened.

It was only ball to hand because he mis-controlled so it was his fault. He should have been sent off imo.

That still wouldn't make it deliberate though if he couldn't get his arm out of the way. Until I see it again though I don't know whether I think it was deliberate or not.

I thought we played well enough in a tricky game. A bit more care in the final third second half and there's more goals in the game for us. Mata popping up everywhere despite the graphic at the start telling us he's playing right wing.

I understand that, to be honest I just can't remember the incident well enough until I see it again. I was too busy screaming "handball" and expletives at the telly!

He was holding his arm in a fairly wide angle behind him. It could be argued that it's "natural", but only in the same way that you might hold your elbows up when you jump, and if the ball hits one of those it's going to be given.

RVP and Rooney don't have the service. everytime I see our midfield...where is the player to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Doubt we're looking for neck grabbing from Carrick or Fellaini. Their job is simply to provide the front 4 with the ball to create things. And both are doing a good job at it.
