HT 0-1 Ruud

Ruud's form has come back quite quickly after his injury. Good to see him score in the League from open play. We had much better movement today than normal, particularly from Scholes and Veron. Defensively our midfield was poor, because everyone is out of position, in fact only Fortune really seems to have a position, the rest roam.
 
we've played well.. altho not been clinical upfront...


good work by ole and a class finish from ruud..


verons done well in the mid....running the game, the way he should.
 
Good game so far, West Ham are unlucky not to be in front or at least level. Wes has been a pleasent surprise, and O'Shea has had his usual decent game. We look good on the counter, but I have a feeling West Ham will sneak a goal or two in the 2nd half. It may be a case of us having to outscore them.

giggs is just not in the game IMO.. he's playing forward, he's playing center.. i don't see him on the wings, i don't see him in midfield.. must have touched the ball 3 times the whole half.. incredible.. we're actually playing with 10 men!

another great performance from O'Shea.. top lad..

Agreed, not only is he not captain, he's barely touched the ball.

Any doubts about offside on Ruud's goal have been cleared up. Good, clean goal.
 
I'd like to see Jimmy Davis get some action later. Seba and Fortune have done pretty well thus far, but they are letting WHU getting too close to our box before anyone closes them down - now would be a good time to have Roy or Nicky around to break up attacks.

I'd love to see Davis given a go. Chadwick didn't make the bench did he? Richardson is on it though. Can hardly do worse than Giggs at the moment.

that's the problem really.. he takes on the ball, but not defenders anymore.. he shot the ball too soon - way off for his ability IMO.. never seen him take 25 yarders and scored before..

then iam sure SAF would have dropped him.

i agree he's not been playing well, but iam perplexed to why he never gets the armband anymore.

that could be said about all united players at the moment.. u can hardly say becks was inspiring either..

except for scholes and JOS.. but they aren't with the armbands now are they?

the game is very open.. it looks like a basketball game.. end to end.. no midfield contest anywhere.. this should have been a very very easy one for us.. we used to love this type of game..
