West Ham United vs Manchester United

You may well be right!:D

Should be a decent game....but a lose or draw is still more likely than us winning. However, such is the nature of the gap in ability or 'expectancy', we will always treasure those great moments of victory - Di Canio up against Barthez, Judas Defoe scoring at OT to win the game, likewise Tevez scoring at OT, Ronaldo missing the penalty last season...this is what gives us hope.

:(

That was a bad, bad match. So many missed chances coupled with Barthez acting an idiot made that a pretty hard match to get over.

Bogey ground for us in the last couple of years and Green will have a stormer no doubt.

Manchester United
XI:
---------------------- Van Der Sar --------------------
Brown ------- Ferdinand ----------------- Vidic ------ Evra
Ronaldo ------- Carrick ------------------ Giggs ------ Park
--------------- Tevez ----------------- Berbatov ---------

Bench: Foster, Neville, O´Shea, Fletcher, Scholes, Nani, Rooney

Tough game....4-0 Manchester United

We've lost our last two matches there haven't we?

Yes.

They drew against Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all away. Those games are part of 3 months unbeaten away from upton park, last game lost away was against us back in october.

Good thing it's at Upton Park then.

Bit of a tough one this. One of the guys in our pub match-watch gang is a season ticket holder at Upton Park, but United are his second team. He seriously doesn't know which to celebrate most, us winning or Spurs losing. So it's tough to wish a heavy defeat of the Hammers...but the goal difference would be useful. So I'm plumping for 2-0 by half-time and coast in the second half giving some of the injured lads a run out.

--Neville--------Rio--------Vidic-------Evra---

--Park---------Carrick----Giggs-------Ronaldo--

---------------Tevez-----Berbatov--------------

Subs: Kuzczak, Brown, Nani, Sheasy, Rooney, Scholes, Fletcher
Prediction:1-0 scrappy win with a goal from Vidic from a Giggsy corner

Finally (!) we are able to field our strongest XI and all of our players are allowed a rest before this game... no midweek-games could do us a massive () favour. Team selection headaches for Fergie? Seems to be...

Van der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Carrick - Fletcher - Nani
Berbatov - Tevez

subs: Foster, O'Shea, Fabio, Scholes, Giggs, Welbeck, Rooney
Players left out: PIG, Neville, Park, Tosic, Gibson
Players injured: Rafael, Evans, Anderson, Hargreaves

Rooney to come off the bench, I wouldn't be surprised to see Giggs start though. Park and Neville might be left out, they played a decent amount of games over the last couple of weeks (especially Neville) and Nani is back from injury. Anything we get is a bonus compared to last season, West Ham play some decent attacking football under Zola, so unlike other teams they probably won't park the bus.
Wouldn't be surprised to see us conceding, it's bound to happen anytime soon...

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Park
CF: Carrick
CM: Giggs
LM: Ronaldo

CF: Tevez
CF: Berbatov

Subs: PIG, Neville, O'Shea, Fletcher, Scholes, Nani, Rooney

Another 0-1 win, Ronaldo with the goal

I've got a funny feeling about this one. The game raising cnuts are in decent form too.

Another 1 nill win for us would be great.

That would give us the All Time British Record for not conceding (1196 mins).

Need to make it till the end of the 74th minute without conceding. We're on 1122 minutes right now.

Looking forward to this one, i like going down to Upton Park.
Cracking KO time aswell.

Will be a tough one, 1-1 i reckon.

I reckon Tevez will get a brace.

Atleast we have a weeks rest

Evra should be back along with Rooney, and we should have some urgency, especially if/when Liverpool beat Pompey on the Saturday evening.

Right, we haven't exactly been great on our last few visits to Upton Park but I'm hopeful that can change this time around. We are in great form, our attackers have been amongst the goals and our defence speaks for itself. The added bonus is that we have a rest until next week (unlike the Dippers) and we should have Evra & Rooney back. We should definitely be up for this one (especially if Liverpool get a win at Pompey) and I'm hopeful we can do it.

As I say, noone decent.

Forgot to mention the away wins in the Cup against the mighty Barnsley and the 'Barcelona of the North East' - Hartlepool.

To suggest we haven't beaten any one decent is a mockery of a sham of an enigma of a riddle tied up in a mystery.....

Signed for a big club.

Will your fans enjoy the 'Argentina' chants as much always this year?

Always a highlight.

The sight of Carlitos giving the 'crossed hammers' sign as he did last year will be good enough for me.

Have said it before on this forum, it dosen't matter what he does at Old Trafford - and I wish him the best of luck wherever he plays - what he achieved amongst the West Ham fans will count for far more than any trophies he wins with yourself or whoever he ends up playing for.

The day he rips his shirt off and leaps into the crowd at OT will be the day he finally belongs to the United fans...until then he is still one of us!;)

:boring:

Can i join this little fairy world?

He fecked off as he had ambitions, he's won a Champions league and Premiership at Utd.

He goes back to your palce once a year, does a plastic little gesture and you all fall over yourselves for him.

He must be pissing himself.

The fact he does the gesture - plastic or otherwise - must make Ferguson beam with delight...

Tempted to say 'big deal' on the Champions League and Premiership...afterall, isn't being at a club such as yours all about winning those types of trophies? But I won't, as I respect any club who is able to do the things that my team will never do...however, the ideologies of our two clubs are completely different, and that may well include how we view some of our past players.

Should Ferguson/Glazer not stump up the £32m+, it will be interesting to see as to where Kia moves him onto next. When he goes from OT he may be remembered as someone who was in the squad that won those trophies...for us he will be remembered in quite a different manner...and thats the difference.

For some reason I'm worried about this one a bit, but I'll say we win 0-2. Need to win to keep a good distance ahead of Luckypool.

Maybe because our security in our world class stadium is a bit hard to break

What an embarassing few paragraphs to read

Maybe its because OT has no soul? ;)

Not biting, as you've obviously never been.

Cringeworthy bollocks you're spouting.

Enjoy this 'spiritual connection' Tevez has with West Ham.
I enjoyed it when he belted one in from 30 yards last season against you.
For the good of your club ofcourse.

thank you for reminding me how much i hate you lot, i wish your manager wasnt so adorable though!!

Seriously, Hammer, this "spiritual" stuff you've been spouting is very embarrassing.

What do you think Tevez cherishes more; some Hammer fans cheering him, or winning the Premier League and Champions League??

You are incredibly naive, or living in a fantasy world, if you think Tevez enjoyed his time at a relegation-threatened club more than he has at a Double-winning and title-challenging club.

Oh, and the last two times you've played us you've been tonked, you were abysmal at Old Trafford, so don't get too ahead of yourself. It's the sign of a small club that remembers scatterings of victory amongst many, many defeats.

Ahhh, not so....I have been to Old Trafford on nine occasions in the past twenty five years (which is possibly more than 50% of the members of this forum, but there you go) and had a good time, win, lose or draw. The last time I was there was January 28th 2001 for the cup game (taxi for Barthez).

Impressive stadium, no question. Cracking atmosphere before, during and after, and a lovely line in various accents from all around the globe (not sure how many were from Moss Side, Rusholme or Salford as I was too busy celebrating!).

For Tevez, it is like he has been seduced by a rich sugar daddy, when he really knows his true relationship is with the club who will always hold him in great affection.

Now THAT'S cringeworthy bollocks!!!! :D

Gone fishing, there's a sign up on my door....;)
