West Ham United vs Manchester United

I'd just like to point out, this game will be postponed due to fuuuuuuucking snow :(

You heard it here first...

Better not be, last thing we need is another rearranged game:mad:

plus more importanly I has planning a "Super Sunday" in the pub for the two games. Feck it anyway

They have a thin squad these days, but quite a few good youngsters.

I think we'll win actually - their defence is far from watertight and that's encouraging. Their attack is doing well but it's not too easy to score against our defence, and it should be back to the first choice lads now.

Depends on how we play. Last season at Upton Park we were just not at the races, even though we could have been 2-0 up with Ronaldo's penalty. The rare week's rest should do them good.

Fergie says Rooney and Evra are back, but will only start on the bench. Neville out through illness.

Hope we give them a fecking hiding to put an end to this difficult fixture voodoo they have over us!

I'll never forget those cnuts playin like their lives depended on it when Blackburn won the League as we drew with West Ham at Upton..... cnuts cnuts cnuts.... they were fecking delighted..... cnuts cnuts..

Its the same every year at Upton - they up their game just for us then fall back to shite the next game..... game-raising bastards & bunch of cnuts.....

did I mention they are a bunch of cnuts................

cnuts....

From the travelling squad I would imagine the team would be something like this. Fergie already said that Rooney and Evra would not start the match.

Starting 11

Three goals conceded in last six games, none in last three...appreciate its not quite up to MU's recent run, but not to be discounted.

Having said that you'll probably do us by at least three goals....which should at least relieve Red Hand Devil of his high blood pressure.

I prefer to look to longer trends.

Your back four and keeper never changes, which is generally a good thing. But 31 goals conceded from 24 games, including 16 from 12 at home, makes me think we'll score, and you've then got a problem.

Tosic is banned for the game. See the injuries/suspensions thread.

Tosic Has apparently been banned from playing in the West Ham game by the Home Office. He picked up a yellow card for the reserves last week which rules him out of two first team games (Everton and West Ham) because he only holds a provisional work permit.

Does this mean every time he picks up a yellow he gets banned for two games ?

Surely not.

Thought he went to Hull... Is this wrong?

Deal feel through due to wage demands, I think.

So Ole's all-time favourite player is still with us...unless Zola and Ferguson can do a 'gentlemen's agreement' and take him off our hands?

Brilliant.

I read an accident report today that simply said "product fell onto hand when lifting it"

Which of the above makes less sense?

No one who lives in London supports west Ham. They all travel in from Essex and pretend to be Londoners.

FERGIE CAN'T EXPLAIN HAMMERS HATRED

Sir Alex Ferguson can offer no rational explanation for West Ham's total dislike for Manchester United.

Although United are used to receiving negative reactions on their travels, Upton Park ranks alongside Anfield and Elland Road as a ground where the atmosphere is at its hottest.

It was a topic of conversation earlier this week when former Hammers boss Alan Pardew paid a visit to United's Carrington training base.

Pardew did not have an answer either, just an acknowledgement the crowd on Sunday will be at its most intense.

"I don't know why there is an extra intensity to the West Ham games," said Ferguson.

"Alan Pardew said it is the one game their fans really get revved up for, even more than Arsenal and Tottenham. It is unusual."

The relationship between the two clubs hardly improved when Paul Ince was pictured wearing a United shirt when he was still a West Ham player.

Ferguson feels it goes back much further, although Rio Ferdinand should be immune as he generally gets a warm ovation when he returns to his old club.

Wayne Rooney, Patrice Evra, Nani and Brazilian twins Rafael and Fabio all return to a United squad which has kept 12 successive clean sheets and has powered to the top, two points ahead of Liverpool heading into the weekend fixtures with a game in hand.

Little wonder United are favourites to register an 18th league title, which would equal Liverpool's proud record that has stood since the Merseysiders last won the title in 1990.

However, Ferguson is refusing to look beyond the present. And, despite the healthy look of the league table just now, the Red Devils boss is planning for a battle that goes right down to the wire.

"You have to put your mind to the possibility that the title could go down to the last few games," said Ferguson.

"I expect the worst and hope for the best."

Certainly Ferguson would happily head to Hull on the final day under the same circumstances as he travelled to Wigan last season knowing a win would seal the trophy.

"That would be fine," he said.

"It would be a position I would take at the start of the season and it could very well be that way this year."

Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra could make the bench on Sunday, but the Reds will definitely travel to West Ham without skipper Gary Neville.

At his pre-match press conference on Friday, Sir Alex Ferguson said Rooney and Evra are not in a position to play 90 minutes yet.

"[They] won’t start the game," the United boss said. "They’ll possibly be on the bench. They’re not quite 100 per cent but they’re not far away.

"Nani’s available for Sunday, as are the two da Silva’s. Jonny Evans will be available for next week, he is in full training now. I think I'll have all my players back in the next two weeks, and therefore more selection problems. It won't be easy [to pick the team]."

Rooney hasn't played since injuring his hamstring against Wigan Athletic on 14 January. Evra limped out of the Reds' victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford three days earlier.

Meanwhile, Sir Alex hopes Wes Brown recovers from a knock in time to cover for Neville.

"Gary hasn't recovered from his illness which caused him to come off last week against Everton," confirmed Sir Alex.

"Wes has a bruised foot from a tackle near the end of that game but hopefully he'll be okay for Sunday. I would imagine Wes will replace Gary at right back. And Ferdinand and Vidic will be there as a partnership, which gives us that solid back four look."

United's hosts West Ham have also been solid in recent weeks, registering consecutive clean sheets in the league against Hull at home (2-0) and Arsenal away (0-0). Four wins and two draws put them second only to the Reds in the form table.

"We’ve got a difficult game at West Ham on Sunday," said Sir Alex.

"It's always difficult to go there, we’ve lost two titles there, so we know the extent of the challenge. Also, they've improved a lot in recent months under Gianfranco Zola.

"They've only conceded seven goals in the last eight league games. That's a clear indication of how the team has developed under Zola. Given West Ham's finanical difficulties and the fact he's had to sell players, he has done a remarkable job.

"So we know it will be hard down there, but if we're going to go to grounds where the home side is playing at its optimum, then you just hope your own team is also in its best form. I think we are, at the moment."

Don't think we've seen those three starting together since Liverpool.

Aye and that went well...

:nervous:

Bad times, but Rio and VDS were going through a bit of a rough patch, both seemed perfect against Everton.

So what's the verdict on the weather in London? looking like it should be alright?

Anyone else forgot about Tosic?
I doubt many people were really expecting Tosic to make a huge breakthrough right away, especially with the limited time he's had. He's a fringe player at best for now, behind Ronaldo, Park and Nani in the picking order. He'll get his chance in games that we put away early; but sadly there isn't really a game left in th eseason (at least at the moment) that isn't a massive game.

Sorry if this has been asked already but is this match on TV ? I can't seem to find it anywhere

Mind you West Ham is only down the road from me so would pubs nearby be showing it on the sneak ?

It's on Sky Sports 1. Kick off is tomorrow at 4 - if you've been searching the listings for the game today, this would explain why you haven't been able to find it.
