West Ham United vs. Manchester United

God I hate international breaks.

------------ VDS ---------------
Rafael --- Vidic - Smalling --- Evra
Nani -- Carrick -- Fletcher --- Park
---- Rooney ------- Berbatov ----

Subs : PIG, Fabio, Brown, Scholes, Giggs, Valencia, Hernandez.

Wouldnt start with valencia because of chelsea in midweek. Give park some much needed gametime and bring valencia on in the 2nd half.

Now it's the time... we need our players back... we need to sort our defensive problems... we need to change our freakin' mentality to a winning one at all cost... now its the time lads... in Manchester United I trust... amen...

Valencia and Hernandez off on their travels on international duty for 2 games each. Must have them as doubtful for this, with it being on saturday morning. Bad time for United sake for Blanc to start picking Paddy Evra again. Hopefully no further injurys

feck sake, they're playing Valencia? He's not even fully fit yet.

Valencia stays with Ecuador in Europe, Hernandez plays in USA, his last game in on night of Tuesday/Wednesday, I'm sure he'll be ok on Saturday morning.

He started and played 90 minutes for us despite us having Park back. I dont think we could have kept him if his NT wanted him after that.

Traveling wont be an issue.. he could do with some game time to regain his sharpness.
I dont really mind this, as long as he doesnt get injured.

club > country, especially at this time of year so selfishly would love if all our players just rested up for the run in.

Bit early to say, but this is what I'm expecting / hoping to see depending on fitness:

van der Sar
Brown Smalling Vidic Evra
Nani Fletcher Carrick Giggs
Berbatov Rooney
--
Kuszczak; Fábio; Gibson, Park, Valencia; Hernandez, Owen

Assuming it's just a bit too soon for Rafael, Ferdinand, Hargreaves, and Anderson. While Evans and Scholes are suspended I believe. I expect Vidic and Fletcher back, which will be a massive boost. I'd play Brown again from the start as he's played a good few games in a row and I don't think his form has been too bad at all. Berbatov and Giggs will have no international duty so I'd like them to start.

If all goes well, bring on Park and Owen. Then one of Valencia or Hernandez for more game time.

toughest remaining away game of the season for me. So many factors make this a banana skin. Early kick off, away form, international break, west ham resurgence. If we win this one we will make a huge step towards number 19

LOL @ Caftards with their lineups.

Lots can happen between now and a week Saturday

Yup. I'm fairly sure we'll lose this one. At best a draw.

We always get affected much more by post-internationals hangover than teams like WHU, whose best players will almost all have the whole fortnight off. Add to that their recent form / our injury problems and it doesn't look good.

We'll still win the league though.

This will be a tough, scrappy game but I can't see us losing 3 successive away games in the league, it just doesn't happen.

Think this will be another Bolton-type game where we fight it out and snatch a late win. Think Stoke at the Britannia in 2008.

It's squeeky bum time!

I am supposed to the resident pessimist!

Premier League: Head-To-Head

Won all our games since 2008.

West Ham at home have a 46% win rate against us.

I think we'll go unbeaten in the league from now until the end of the season.

I agree with both of these posts.

We have very few 1st team players away at this time though compared to the rest of the top teams though. None of Vidic Brown VDS Fletch Park Carrick Giggs Fabio Scholes Berbatov Anderson are playing, I dont think Evra will be selected, Hopefully Rooney is rested V Ghana. Might not be so bad. I'm delighted the equador games are in Europe. Id say West ham have as many if not more than us on international duty

Squeaky bum time... yeah right... make it really squeaky!

Hell is probably just one long international break...

Scholes is suspended no?

Bloody Hell! Last six league meetings.

WOW!....and I was always under the impression those cockney muppets were a bogey team in the league!!
I know statistics can be misleading but I think they should be more worried than us!

Unreliable stats there given that the third game on the list was 1-4, not 0-4. Your point still stands though.

A great opportunity to go 8 points clear till Arsenal play and put the pressure on them.

I'll take a sloppy 1-0

Didn't they beat us 2-1 in 08/09? Ronaldo scored from a header early on, then missed a penalty in the second half. They came from behind, and Anton Ferdinand scored the winner late in the game.

Edit: That was 07/08. They beat us in 06/07 as well, both home and away.

Can't wait for this. 'Kin international football.

Im with Pogue, our record against them might be good but we will be playing in white kits, and you know how they feck us up. White kits= no win=no good.
