West Ham vs. Manchester United

So, who's confident?
Have to say I think we'll put in a really good performance. Probably just delighted to see the trio of Rooney up top, with Mata and kagawa starting together, but I can't help but feel like we'll win it comfrotably.

Take it Evans failed the late fitness test (if there actually was one)

He's talking rubbish.

Apart from Carrick, who is playing at CB out of necessity, nobody else is playing out of position. Mata isn't at his best out wide but he can still play there.

It's not even that Mata is going to play 'wide'. Either him or Kagawa will get a free role, Mata has not played a single match where you could call him a winger.

I worry about Carrick going up against Carroll. I still remember how Fellaini ate him alive on the first day of last season. Powerful, physical players are often hard for Carrick to deal with.

Mata out of position again, sigh. Feel sorry for him.

How so? MUTV have him in as a number ten behind Rooney which is where everyone wants him to play no?

On a side note, I would have taken a gamble and given Tom Thorpe a chance at centre back rather than play Carrick alongside fecking Buttner.

Hmm I dont like the looks of this. Fellaini and Fletcher in CM? Carrick and Buttner in the back 4, Young getting a start as well.

Really hope Mata, Rooney and Kagawa put in a performance. Would love to see more of them together.

Carrick at CB is obviously forced on Moyes but the rest of the team I like. Let's see how they do. As long as Rooney stays up top it could work very well

Young over Welbeck, ffs!

Lol, let's not forget we've got City on Tuesday. Welbeck worked tremendously hard against Olympiakos and deserves a bit of a rest, as I can imagine he'll start on the left against City.

Hopefully Young should be enough against West Ham.

With Evra playing most games and being suspended for the first leg of the semi final, not that surprising to see Buttner start this. Evra'll return for the City game.
I know, it's just a depressing thought. I guess if Buttner needs some game time before the Bayern game, this is the best opportunity given the derby in midweek and we'll probably leave most of the team to play Bayern out next weekend. Not much Moyes can do about the centre halves, just shows how much of a moron Vidic is for his daft challenge last week.

Really wish we kept Keane, we might have 5CBs but its common knowledge that they're always injured.

Carrick at cb with buttner is a worry. Normally I'd say Fletch/Fellaini could give good cover but Fletch has undoubtedly looked slow in the matches he's played, if Fellaini pushes up as he has done then it could be a worry as if they run at us then they could easily get in.

I personally don't see why Young has come back in to it but in all honesty I guess it doesn't matter what we do in the league anymore, fourth is not happenning and I'm not fussed by getting europa. I'm sure Welbeck is beign rested, though I'd assume he won't play Januzaj against City, so unless he's injured then its a shame he hasn't started.

I agree, which is why I said that only really Carrick is out of position. I imagine Kagawa Rooney and Mata will play right across the pitch.

Young isn't enough against anyone. ..

Who's our best CB for the reserves at the moment? The lack of defensive cover on the bench has to be a risk.

I've thought for quite some time that our training regimes needed changing. Too much of our players get injured in training.

If we drops points will the pressure fall back on Moyes? Or has Wednesday afforded him a lot of breathing space?

It is ridiculous when you think about it. I blame Moyes. Joke

Tom Thorpe!! This guy has more potential than Keane IMO, although I do like Keane.

Will not be surprised if he's actually playing Fellaini at CB with Carrick in the middle. West Ham are the new Stoke, so we can ill afford to have Carrick and Jones at the back...

Yea let's tire Welbeck this game and then play him against City when he's tired so we get 0 decent Welbecks in 2 games instead of having 1 decent Welbeck in 1 game.

If trio of Kagawa, Mata and Rooney can't disarm West Ham's defence then we're in deeper trouble than playing Young on the wing.
