Manchester United boss David Moyes: "We've lost Robin van Persie for four or five weeks and Rio Ferdinand has a bad back so we are stretched. I am asking Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini to both fill in at centre-back today.

"We didn't think Robin's injury was serious after the game in midweek but it's a sprained knee and it's a big, big blow."

Swapping mid-game?

Hope so!

Hope he doesn't mean Carrick and Fellaini both play at CB with Jones in midfield. Even Moyes is not that daft!!

Swapping mid-game?
Or playing them both? With Jones in midfield?
:nervous:

Look at Moyes...he is fecked...he will look like gollum by the end of the season

Carrick CB... we're going to get fecked at the back.

I think we'll score a few though... I'll go either 3-2 West Ham... or us to win 4-3

He actually said "we are using a mixture of Fellaini and Carrick at centre back at different times today"

It will be Jones with those two interchanging

Swapping mid-game?
De Gea
Carrick Jones Fellaini
Rafael -------Fletcher --------Evra
Young Mata Kagawa
Rooney
3-3-3-1  I think it'll just be Fellaini dropping back to head clear the long balls but it'll primarily be Carrick back there.

What does swapping mean? Surely we want one of them to partner jones for the entire 90mins to get some sort of understanding going?

Vidic hurt or something, he has to be better than Carrick at CB if that's the way they are lining up. Would have liked to see Januzaj and/or Welbeck get a start.

Don't see the logic of asking both Fellaini and Carrick to play centre-back at different times? Unless Fellaini is slotting in for set pieces?

I'm honestly not sure any more. Vidic is a liability now.

LMAO Jaimie, Fellaini did not get a contract with United because he terrorised Carrick. I think Moyes working closely with him for many years has a little something more to do with it than United's scouting report from watching him terrorise Carrick...

Strange lineup. Our defence looks shit with Buttner and Carrick playing there but West Ham don't score much so we might be okay. I'm glad that Kagawa is getting a game and it'll be interesting to see how he, Rooney and Mata all link up.

I think this will be a tight game, with very few chances but we'll grind out a 2-1 win. Hopefully Mata gets on the scoresheet, his first goal for United is long overdue.

----------De Gea
----------Jones
Rafael--------------Buttner
------Carrick---Fletcher
------------Fellaini
------------Kagawa
------------Mata
------------Rooney
---------------------------------Young

That's the way to go.
