How the feck does anyone watch Fox
That's actually a really dangerous move.
EDIT:
The Government is expected to provide time for a debate if the Official Opposition tables a motion of no confidence in the Government. Erskine May, the authoritative guide to parliamentary practice, states:
Interested in which of the current conservative government/party you would turn up to hear, or get the juices flowing. As I'm struggling to think of any that are credible and smart at the moment. With all due respect, Yvette Cooper is the only one of those I would turn up to hear. Doesn't exactly get the juices flowing, but who knows! The question is with the problems a new Labour Government would face on entering office sooner than expected, Starmer needs to be the big hitter himself, at least for a while.
This is gas, Johnson was forced out for going woke at the behest of the Euro-elites:

Thankfully it isn't available here in the UK.

Summary
- Eight candidates make it onto the ballot for the Conservative Party leadership contest
- The chair of the 1922 Committee, Sir Graham Brady, announces those who have received the support of at least 20 MPs
- The eight candidates are Kemi Badenoch, Suella Braverman, Jeremy Hunt, Penny Mordaunt, Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss, Tom Tugendhat and Nadhim Zahawi
- Sajid Javid and Rehman Chishti withdraw from the contest just minutes before the deadline
- Successful contenders will go through to a vote on Wednesday, with the final two candidates selected before the end of next week
- Transport Secretary Grant Shapps earlier pulled out and endorsed former chancellor Sunak, along with Deputy PM Dominic Raab
- Meanwhile, Johnson loyalists Jacob Rees-Mogg and Nadine Dorries have backed Liz Truss
- The winner will be announced on 5 September
In fairness how many Tory MPs would you turn up for over the Labour list.
Not many.

Plus the very good shadow chancellor to be added to that group.
I do agree with you about Yvette Cooper.
She is one of the few who I do rate.
She has a very sharp brain, added to the ability to keep cool under pressure.
Significantly more of a match for Priti Patel in the Home Office.
Seriously what's the point of Labour.
He must not see enough support from the loons in the party to get over the line.Ben Wallace... but he's not running!!!
As above!!! The only one Labour would have to worry about... but he's not running so Sir Keir can breathe a sigh of relief![]()
The government has tabled a vote of no confidence in itself..
What a bizarre turn of events. They will back themselves and then win the vote of no confidence despite saying they had no confidence ? Or do they actually want an election? Or is this just Boris making a ridiculous final play?

Labour specified Johnson. Tories are just saying whether they have confidence in the government, which of course they will, without naming Johnson. It's all a game but Labour are too naïve. Just let Johnson leave, then go for the kill.
This is gas, Johnson was forced out for going woke at the behest of the Euro-elites:
Is this a smart move on their part? Can they endlessly refuse the Labour tabled one? They are trying to prevent Labour using wording relating to Johnson in the motion and keeping it as a VONC on the Government only so they can vote in favour of the Government. They are trying to avoid having to vote in favour of Johnson.
I was surprised they could but as they control Parliamentary timetable they can which is stupid really. They will get their vote on the confidence for the Government not Boris so they will get their wish.

Thanks. I guess besides breaking no law, the press won't call them out for it either and somehow this government will back Johnson's move, despite just ditching him, but still come out untarnished.Every digest and book on parliamentary practice, behaviour and convention says they cannot refuse a VONC. They can choose the date. But with an uncodified constitution, the only mechanism for getting an early election (apart from having the Government call one) is a VONC, so they are as sacrosanct a matter as you can get, regardless of whether they will be won or not.
But the flipside to an uncodified constitution is that there is no law being broken by refusing a VONC to be held, and no legal repercussions. The Government's own MPs could put pressure on them to hold the vote, but how many of them will be wanting to do anything that takes them out of a job?
Its not naïve. Not in a normal country.
Tabling a vote of no confidence in yourself and then voting that you’re confident in yourself is Fcuking hatstand.
It can easily be packaged as corruption. Which it absolutely is. They’re in disarray. They’re not ‘beating’ Labour here. The Johnson tail is wagging the Tory dog. They’re fcuked.
My anger towards this Government is reaching astronomical levels.
At least the next PM has their priorities right...
Shame this guy isn't this strict with the Government lies in the Commons:

Presumably the PM candidates will conveniently be in meetings 'booked in ages ago' to avoid having to vote.
Depressing stuff.
This press?

Yeah, we are screwed as a nation.
He must not see enough support from the loons in the party to get over the line.
What makes you like him? I see him as somewhat of a policy mystery box, I know very little of what he stands for apart from money for the military and supporting Ukraine.
