Willian

Scored twice for Brazil last night, hes the only one in this Chelsea team that deserves any credit really this season. Wonderful player!
all the hardwork and patience is paying off now. One of my favourite players from Chelsea side, he's the equivalent of our Herrera, in and out of the team, always giving his best,100% team player, once given chance and gained confidence great great player and certain starter..

Is he Chelsea's best player atm? Got the assist and was MOTM today.

Scored what looks to be a match-winning free kick for Chelsea. That's your week fulfilled, eh, @Sigma?

Hate Chelsea. Like Willian.

I hope he dedicates that goal to EssexRob

By far and away our best players this season and is start to become more decisive in the final third. Too bad every other attacking player has gone to shit this season. His performances have been looked over this season due to Chelsea playing like shit but I would say he is one of the best performers in the league this season. Also gives his all every game which is great to see.

5 free kicks scored too this season. Juninho-esque numbers.

His workrate is ridicilous, especially for an offensive Brazilian player. I think any club in the world would love to have him in their squad.

He's class. Really stepped up this season.

Always found the ridicule on this forum baffling. He's a cracking player.

BBC saying the free kick last night was the sixth he's scored this season. Incredible record given it's still November. Must be on for a record?

He has scored in all but one CL game. All have been free kicks.

We should have listened to Rene Meulensteen earlier. Willian's quality.

Agreed.

Hazard might be more talented but I'm not convinced that if I was building a side I'd have him ahead of Willian.

He developed extremely well at Chelsea over the years it has to be said
I'd say he was pushed a bit too much into a workhorse role on the wing. He looked like a fantastic AM whenever I saw him before his move to England, just wasn't given enough responsibility to shine at Chelsea before this season. It's more a finally back to his best thing than a development.

2 of them were crosses that went through everyone and past the keeper. Not sure if you should count those as attempts as he wasn't shooting.
They are intented to be on goal though, that's the dangerous thing about those crosses - the keeper can't risk to move too early and if no one touches the ball, they go in at the far post. He sure knows how to whip them im.

I think Yaya scored something like 10 freekicks two seasons ago, didn't he? Willian surely is on pace to break that number.

IMO this Willian is better then the Willian at Shaktar. This season he is showing the attacking threat and creativity he showed at Shaktar (Playing against better opponents this time around) but also has the same insane workrate that he developed at Chelsea. Also, he has shown more grit and the ability to take a game by the scruff of the neck the same way he did for them.

The problem with William was always his decisiveness and his final ball. His build up work, link up play and work rate were always the best in the team. This season he has added a better final ball to his game and shown more confidence in getting forward to affect the final third. Something he was reluctant to do so much last season. Probably the one shining light from this season so far.

Agree 100%. At Shaktar he was creative but inconsistent and somewhat unreliable. Initially at Chelsea his forward play lost some flair and effectiveness but he became an absolute monster in terms of work-rate, mentality and defensive contribution. Now he seems to have put the two together, and must be the most well-rounded player in the league at the moment. Which is nice, because he seems like a likeable human being too.

The Brazilian Ashley Young.
lol

Great free kick taking donkey, really. He has a lot to prove in open play.

He's a donkey from open play. 90% of the time he gets the ball he holds on to it for about half a minute longer than he needs to while dribbling it from side to side.

He has a much better all round game than you think. I've watched a lot of Chelsea this and last season and he's quite underrated. He's probably underrated in his attacking abilities because people always talk about how good he is defensively.
