Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Manchester United

If you bring Diouf on, you gotta take one of Nani/Valencia off otherwise Carrick/Scholes will get overrun.

I think the first change thats needed is to bring on Fletcher to replace Gibson. If things still aren't improving, then we bring on either Park or Diouf for one of our wingers and then play 4-4-2.

Agree there.
Fletcher is a must

I'm glad people are starting to see the light regarding Gibson. Has a good shot but not much else.

Can't pass, greedy, can't tackle, wet defensively, stops promising moves with his desire to shoot from anywhere within 50 yards of goal etc.

To think people rated/rate him higher than Anderson :lol:

Carrick has carried on like he played for England; awful. Need Scholes further forward. The team looks like it's thinking about Wednesday rather than this game.

Carrick played well for England. Completely changed the game when he came on.

Can everyone stop snapping their knees? How many times have we has first half mares then come out to smash it in the second? All the calls for immediate changes won't happen, let's wait and see what effect the HT talk has.

Well to be fair Andersons hardly set the place alight either.

We dont really have a Lampard to fill in for him while he's dropping deep creating or going out wide to put a cross in. Its quite decent stuff from him but what we need from our CF is a player to be in the box and put the ball in the back of the net. We need Rooney. And Berbatov is not the same kind of player. Its just a wrong mix. But hopefully someone will pop up in the box and take the scoring burden off him. It just isnt our strength with the players we have playing.

With that midfield on this day if he played further forward he'd be moaned at for being anonymous.

Gibson gets slated by 95% of the posters on here every time he plays mate.

what are the odds for a half time change?
We know SAF waits till 65 th min or so for any changes

Yeah i always thought that was silly, but Gibson does have some of the right attibutes (i have seen him ping the ball around with good accuracy) but hes just not consistant with it - and when he has a off day like today his other attibutes dont show

is just like the performances against everton, we just don't look arsed for it, we look dead tired.

Berbatov's been excellent as midfield support, 4-6-0 is a bit of a shit formation though.

Agree, there have been so many points where he comes deep, turns and there's no-one between the wave of red pushing up (Nani, Berbatov, Scholes and Valencia) and the Wolves defence. We need someone (and Diouf I'm looking at you) to play off the WOlves back-line.

Oh, and whoever keeps saying Berbatov should be doing that, if he did he'd be even more isolated as none of Scholes, Carrick or Gibson are supporting him - all 3 are trying to play in the same fecking 10 yard space in front of our defence.

Then he shouldn't be hitting them in there then!

As I said....thoughtless.

(He'll go pull off an amazing cross now ), but my point remains.

Well Valencia's good cross in the first half was towards Nani. Nani's crossing in the first half was generally towards Valencia.

Because Berbatov was dropping off or coming shorter distances. As a 1 up front he wants the ball to feet, not like Rooney getting on the end of all the good balls into the box.

Never. He's been adored by all and sundry since his Spurs goals.

I've never bought the hype. Decent Premiership player, no more, no less.

Yet you seem to have bought the Anderson hype.

What chances have come his way?

He doesn't run; doesn't chase; out of position and not in the pen area when the rare chance came along.

It says something when Gibson is more forward than Berbatov.

Carrick's been average, but he saved our bacon at one point with a wonderful challange.

Yet, as usual with Carrick, that goes unnoticed.

'Kin matchday threads. How can people watch the same game of football and have such completely different opinions?

IMO Gibson and Carrick need to up their game, especially Gibson. Nani was dire for 30 minutes but was quite good in the last 10-15 minutes. Berbatov's been ok but - just like Rooney, many times already this season - struggles when our midfielders aren't on their game.

Wolves have worked their socks off though. They'll tire eventually and we'll see some spaces open up. Still confident we'll win. No need to change anything just yet.

Don't be ridiculous.

After every game he's played at least one person's said 'he's not good enough for us'.
