Yup. Fernando is God, and Eder is his true born son and prophetFernando Santos is God. You always think he is dead, but he never gives up.

Feck no play off, direct qualification doesn't taste as good. Now that we don't go to the play off, Bosnia misses it it![]()

Agreed, France and Portugal are supposed to struggle during qualifiers. That's how football has been created.
Robben walking with his kids on the field.. he is retiring from our national team. Lost our last world class player![]()
Translation
Should have won the WC in '14. One of the most unbelieveable individual WC tournaments everRobben walking with his kids on the field.. he is retiring from our national team. Lost our last world class player![]()
Guess you are even more fecked now.Robben walking with his kids on the field.. he is retiring from our national team. Lost our last world class player![]()

You might become a new Andorra nowMaybe Memphis can step up. he was going to be our next world class winger... oh never mind, we are fecked![]()
Robben is by far the best Dutch player of a generation which made a World Cup final. How close does he get to the all time Dutch XI?
I'd go for:
Reckon there are plenty who would call for Gullit or Seedorf over Bergkamp or Robben to give more balance in midfield but feck it - with the ball playing ability of those defenders I'd want both of them up front!

No Makele?
Heard that Memphis threw his jersey for fans and they threw it back..
My friend might be joking though
I believe that was for Lyon.. he also put his fingers in his ears after scoring because he wasnt happy with the Lyon fans saying negative things about him.
Maybe he is driving more cars than scoring goalsWhy have they turned on him? Not performing good enough?
Holland without Robben...fecked or not?
I don't think it has declined, if anything it has become more competitive with the rise of other nations. Nowadays every other nation has some top player with them . But I agree I miss the 2000 to 2006 era too.Was having this discussion with a friend of mine the other day about how many footballing legends were at those tournaments between 2000 and 2006 compared to now.
Italy had Totti, Maldini, Buffon, Inzaghi, Nesta, Del Piero, Cannavaro, Pirlo and Gattuso.
England had Rooney, Beckham, Scholes, Terry, Ferdinand, Neville, Cole, Gerrard, Lampard and Owen.
Brazil had Cafu, Carlos, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Kaka, Juninho, Lucio
France had Henry, Thuram, Trezeguet, Zidane, Ribéry.
I don’t think any national team comes close in terms of star power to those sides and I was too lazy to list all the greats from Holland (already covered earlier in the thread), Portugal etc.
International football has declined massively in the last ten years.
No, they won because I only arrived now, because if I was watching they would not winYup. Fernando is God, and Eder is his true born son and prophet
He took Greece to the quarters in Euro 2012 and last 16 in WC 2014, even if I don't like his concept of football.Portugal is quite clearly the better team. And Santos is quite possibly the Diego Simeone of NT managers. One of the most underrated managers around. Easily top 10.
Drop Bergkamp, push Cruyff up, play Keizer left?Robben is by far the best Dutch player of a generation which made a World Cup final. How close does he get to the all time Dutch XI?

Why the feck did you chose a back 5 with de Boer and Suurbier, benching Gullit, Neeskens etc? Play 3 at the back, Krol and Stam with their experience as covering CBs, Koeman/Rijkaard as a proven duo (1988)Robben is by far the best Dutch player of a generation which made a World Cup final.
