WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

Off her line and still nowhere near it. Zero push off.

Mad precedent they're setting with VAR there. Thems the rules though.

Going to have to be 10 mins added on ffs, first penalty was been looking at ages ago ffs. This is ridiculous

That's ridiculous, every keeper always takes those steps before a penalty.

Ironical that France and Nigeria are drawing - even if France are resting some players - while I’m watching Norway lead South Korea in a game I’d call much more even except for that the Koreans play much better!

61% possesion, 20-7 shots, 5-2 on target, 0-2 goals, both penalties (albeit correct and refreshingly VAR-less).

South Korea are playing a blend of well organized passing games with good movement, and no 10 Ji as a brilliant playmaker.

And there it’s 1-2. Aaaargh.

Beautiful assist, though, a backheeled nutmeg from Lee sends Yeo clean through.

Pathetic to have that repeated. I've seen waaaaay worse at other occasions where goalkeeper stood miles off their line, this one was inches and basically at the same time she took the shot.

what happened to the good old days of 15 players encroaching into the box & the GK saving it on the 6 yard line?

(this is now just as stupid)

Ji Soyun does play exceptionally well! Unluckily for us, our 10 Graham Hansen were injured for the second pen. Luckily, Sævik who has come in is doing her things well.

Are Diani and Le Sommer very good? The crowd cheers everytime they get the ball.

Infuriating time wasting from Norway towards the end tbh.

87-90th minute were wasted in the corner

And now Nigeria stops the counter and it is a yellow. What an insanely poor ref.

what unfortunate circumstances? The ref correctly applying the rules?
It’s unfortunate because it wasn’t called a pen initially so pre-VAR it wouldn’t have been one and another ref might not have asked for the pen to be retaken. I’m not saying it was unfair in any way or that the rules were not correctly applied, just saying it was a bit unfortunate.
