Thought he managed before real? Wasn't that good eitherZidane has never not won the Champions League as a manager...
He won the league with Real.Am I right in saying he's never won a domestic cup, either as a player or a manager?
He doesn't strike me as someone who'd take part in the manager merry-go-round.Surprised. Despite winning three Champions League titlea on the bounce, he could have still done a lot better in the league. Very surprised by his decision.
Be interesting to see where he goes. Maybe Chelsea. He's always spoken about his admiration for Hazard. Either that or Juve, I guess.
I think it could have something to do with the manner in which he quit football as a player. Disgraceful, shameful, embarrassing. It broke him to pieces. Now he's walking away from a coaching job as one of the greats in the business, after winning the CL title back to back to back. That's what you call full circle.
Cup. Cup! Domestic Cup I say!He won the league with Real.
I hope he goes on to manage the French NT and leads them to WC/EC glory.

I doubt it. We never saw much of Zidane in England, only CL and International stuff but he was sent off 14 times in his career.I think it could have something to do with the manner in which he quit football as a player. Ah right. For some reason I thought it was a completely different team.He managed Real's B team before stepping up to manage the first team.
Zidane not looking for another club? I'd be more than surprised if we didn't approach him during the season if things don't improve by Christmas.
Ah, my badCup. Cup! Domestic Cup I say!
Calm down. Was merely speculating that if Mourinho spends £200m this summer and we still play badly, the fans/media get on his back and rumours of discontent continue, it wouldn't be a surprise if Ed approached Zidane during the season. You know he loves this kind of appointment. Are you a United fan? “If things don’t improve”. The United team has improved a lot since Mourinho arrived. Finished 2nd for the first time since SAF.

12 of those sending's off were due to provocation (his words), which normally resulted in him stamping, elbowing and headbutting someone, and they usually happened in big games with lots of pressure.
Zidane was undoubtedly one of those players who played on the edge, always on the verge of doing something reckless, Rooney in his hay day is a good comparison. We don't remember him as that kind of player because he always looked so calm, calculated and in control, he played like a Roles Royce but was never far away from a red most of the time.
Managing isn't the same as playing so I'm not surprised he has resigned in this way. He's a classy operator.
Imagine thatCan they sack Deschamps now and install ZZ.. you know he'd fecking it, too.
If they had known, PSG would have held off on hiring Tuchel and offered Zidane heaven and earth to manage them.
Yeah, I remember he just sort of accepted it like it was something that was out of his control.Yeah Zidane wasn't broken by his exist at all, which pissed a lot of people off in France.
Without a doubt!
While we're on the subject, I'm a Jose fan (always have been) but I'd replace him with Zizou tomorrow without a moment's hesitation.
He probably realised it would be Perez doing the rebuilding and not him.Probably realised there's a rebuild needed and he wasn't feeling up to it.
Didn't Guardiola resign after the defeat to Chelsea in the CL? Seems a bit different to me.
Would completely destabilize the team doing that. Much better to suss out Zidane to succeed Mourinho.

You may be slightly exaggerating the situation there mate, I mean, managerial changes occur on a regular basis within football, you would have to assume the players would adjust with relative ease. That said, I'd be happy to hold on to Jose for another year at least, especially if it meant Zizou would be his eventual replacement.

Greatest player to manager stint ever? What’s incredible to think is,
he’s just as much of a legendary player as he is manager. Incredible!
