UK Riots (with the exception of Manchester which has its own thread)

Why are the police not cracking skulls?

Every little cnut in London is watching the TV and realising how easy it it to loot shops and destroy property.

I'm guessing simply because it's too dangerous. If they go and use force they're likely to get twatted themselves.

My parents grew up in very rough parts of London in the fifties and sixties, there were no opportunities, no benefits, crime was horrendous and you had to get on with it - these people do not know how good they have it in 2011.

My parents gre up in the 40's and 50's, they had feck all but there was a stronger sense of community both family and wider and people sought satisfaction through their relationships with those communities, not through having the latest xbox game or the most 'friends' on facebook.

I sometimes think you are a parody.

I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

The problem is what happened a few months ago with the protests.

Some members of the public were highly critical of the Police and their tactics when dealing with the disorder during the Student Protests.

Now it is on their doorstep there is a change of heart. It is frustrating when people want their cake and to eat it.

Thats like 5 mins away from me :nervous:

Have they targeted Brent Cross shopping center?

It's already being defended by the coppers, they saw it coming.
Brent Cross is too near dickheadville - Cricklewood, for them to not know an attack was bound to happen.

Of course, but at the same time there has to be a point where this won't be allowed to happen anymore? Maybe letting it continue almost unopposed won't have such an effect on people, in the sense of tempting opportunists, but it looks to be that way, and getting worse.

Just seen about 20 hoodies out of the back window, probably headed for the Mailbox (complex housing shops, restraunts, apartments, and BBC).

Not that i agree with that shower of shite students in their last effort, but the big difference is they had an agenda. These twats don't.

 I live on the Cricklewood/Hampstead border.

I'm more close to the Hampstead side so haven't really seen much going on. Mind you Cricklewood looks like its on a riot 24/7 365.

What else are you supposed to do with your cake, just look at it?

I do agree with you though.

Guy on BBC is making a good point, get the water cannons out, knock the cnuts off their feet and put those fires out.

Just been talking to the missus on the phone and she said that, it's a good idea.

Haha yeah, it's like scumbag town, there isnt much for them to steal from there though.
There's the bingo hall, Matalan and about 50 chicken and chip shops.

I don't see this calming down any time soon.

The government isn't even here, the Police are evidently struggling/beaten.

The country has been shit for awhile, but now it's like the rats have left the ship and the passengers are desperately aiming for an iceberg.

the cops aren't beaten, they're not allowed to do anything yet.
