Self proclaimed tagline king.

Seems like it Dr. D.
looks like it!
GMP repeatedly announced there is nothing out of the normal, as have ambulances and Fire Stations.
Glad to hear that.
You missed my point. There is a reason you haven't moved jobs. These reasons are always relevant, regardless of wage bracket. Obviously there are varying degrees but the principle remains.
I knew you weren't talking about me specifically, don't worry.
For the record, in some instances there really aren't jons out there. Specifically, as I mentioned in that post, I know a lot of lads who have just taken their GCSE's who can't find summer jobs for toffee. A lot of CV's handed out, days spent talking to local businesses etc. You're forgotting that some people don't have the relevant qualifications. At 16, that's not through choice, they're just not that academically developed yet.
Jobseekers' Allowance is £100 every two weeks.
Again, I raise the same situation to you. 16 year olds can't do bar work. Call centres rarely employ under-18's too. Shopping assistant jobs are available but I know for a fact that CV's are getting sent and not replied to. Hell, one of my mates has an excellent CV in retail despite being 19 and just successfully interviewed for a job application. He got told his application and interview were successful, from a group interview of ~30 people, only to be told that the job he'd just applied to no longer existed. Instead he could re-apply for a job in a service station on the outskirts of London.
Well said. People here simply saw the name 'Ken Livingstone', heard an opinion, and were quick to demonise him.
For the record I thought he was spot on, opportunistic or not.
I am hearing there is bother in Manc

You liable to be called in?
I'm glad you're here to tell us how we think.
Yes mate. Some mates who were working have been kept on but it hasn't got to the stage of pulling people off rest day yet.
Does not sound good though.

It's very interesting to see the sense of community amongst the Turks, Asians, and other immigrants who are reportedly banding together to defend themselves and their properties. Lots of ethnic communities have much closer relationships between members of the group than the average English people.
I wouldn't go out there with out a strap, if I was a copper like...I'm not taking this back to page 10.
If you end up getting called out mate GL and stay safe.
Ye keep safe TR

I have worked in 2 call centres, both of them took under 18s (I was 17 when I started) and with no experience, it is harder at 16, I was under the assumption we were talking about adults as the typical age bracket reported in these riots is 25, then again you wouldn't be expecting 16 year olds to be in as desparate need a job, typically living at home and going to college but for those who don't go to college and don't live at home I can understand your point there. I guess I could sympathise with your point if you're that age, but 18+ there isn't really an issue unless you set your standards too high. You could walk into a bar and get a job, any call centre and get a job etc if you were desparate enough.
It just seems like an excuse for people to hide behind that because they either a.) genuinely can't get a job for whatever reason or b.) don't want to do the work that businesses are actively advertising for that they need to go and smash some shops up and loot some free stuff and try to break into peoples houses and rob them. Like Plech has already said, these guys are just bored and think it's a laugh.
Doc, it seems like they need a new sheriff in town. You can be Wyatt Earp, and I'll be Doc Holliday.![]()
Warfare in Ealing. I walk along this road quite often and it's just carnage right now. If only there were enough cops to beat sense into that mob.
Are you hearing anything specific or just bother in Manchester? Town centre or further out?
I am hearing various things to be honest, but I would not worry too much.
It is hard to know what is speculation and what is going on.
Our lads will be well ready for it though, should it happen, I can tell you that.
