UK Riots (with the exception of Manchester which has its own thread)

This is apparently Dagenham from a bit earlier. Note the Jeremy Kyle style mother :annoyed:

I've just had a text from the missus in West Brom saying it has kicked off over there.

From the BBC

Breaking News
In the last hour several shop windows have been smashed in West Bromwich. Up to 200 youths in hoodies have been seen on the streets and police have now pushed the crowd to one side.

Graphic designers done for looting in the courts according to the beeb, well we are a rum lot and well known for antisocial behaviour.

Hectic you are the only person on the net reporting trouble there.

Where did you get it from?

Friends mostly, until I leave work I can't confirm, but there is trouble at the station, which is minutes away from me so I'll check later, as well as looting in Bletchley Tesco's. Had a text about toys r us being looted, but I doubt it.

They're closing things down slowly but surely. The problem is their greed. Without meaning to sound too harsh they really should have shut up shop last night. Staying open effects the entire 3 stories of this building

Definitely, and it's not too harsh, especially since they have people living underneath and above, it's not fair on the people there, and in general, is stupidly risky given they hadn't installed security measures, patched up the holes from before, and put there place at risk even more for another day and night.

Have you considered staying elsewhere till a bit of normality resumes?

Shit loads of police cars outside the mall, has been taken down now, strange.

I just got caught up in the Clapham clean up. left before Boris got there mind (I think, I didn't see him). It was all rather amusing...I didn't actually mean to. I went out this morning and decided to go back via Junction to see how it was going and then got basically kettled by the middle classes and some very minor celebrities with their brooms and wasn't allowed to get home. People were making signs and then everyone was clapping them (One said "This isn't Big Society, we're just here to clean) and then somehow, bizarrely, some bunting appeared and was draped across the road...It was incredibly bizzarre. There were a couple of heated arguments between some rasta and an old lady about how justified it all was, but other than that, surreally comunal.

They then started letting people in to "help" - as that's what they'd all come to do, and since that was only way I could get back to my flat I joined in...I'll try and put some pics up in a bit

Fwiw..It wasn't actually the whole fancy dress shop...The bit between Dubvendor and The bulk of the Party Store went up,...But only the left hand side of it ...It's still mostly there though. I reckon Dubvendor's alright.

The major change today is that people are now completely behind the police...They want police brutality if anything.

Precautionary.

I work in Ktown.

No, I mean Kingston in Milton Keynes. Not Kingston as in SW! Although I did stay there for several years, good old Surbiton. Even though it's shit.

I deleted it though as it hasn't been confirmed, so I'll wait until some kind of proof does come.

Have just heard from a friend (so probably false) that the Grapes in Hayes is on fire.

Not, I'm not saying this is true, but I've heard it from a friend in the area.

That part of Hayes, is scummy. Reliable source?

Apologies.

Cambridge estate in 'my' Kingston is the likely flashpoint.

Complete dive

There's a Dubvendor in Clapham?!

The one in Ladbroke Grove is an institution. I feel cheated knowing there's another one.

On a side note. Is this you?

Youths in my area walking up my road with bats, probably heading towards Mare St again. about 4 of them look about 10.

Also everything's shut now...Everything in my ends. There was one shop open with the shutters half down and it's packed with people hoarding like it's the Blitz....Popped in for some cider and fags. Result!...Don't think the takeaways are up and running though.

Yep, I can imagine Kingston being a pretty tough place to handle if it were to start properly there, given the ridiculous amount of teenagers / young adults there, it doesn't stand much of a chance if it kicks off fully.
