I don't understand what Fergie means when he says Suarez is a disgrace and should never play for Liverpool again. Surely being a disgraceful human being is as good a reason as any for him to stay there.

Despite the rivalry, Liverpool are one of the true great clubs of the game with a fantastic history.

That's speculation. Even if Rio planned not to shake Suarez hand there'd be an understandable reason for not doing so. Just like Bridge wasn't the bad guy for not shaking Terry's hand.
Rio probably thought of the scenario before the match, and planned not to shake Suarez hand if he didn't shake Evra's.
