BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Sunday 08 April 2012
KO 13:30 BST
Old Trafford

Was just about to submit the exact post...

Anyway, we should roll these. 8 points clear and pressure on City. Early goal to ease any nerves.

De Gea
Rafael Evans Ferdinand Evra
Valencia Carrick Scholes Young
Rooney Welbeck

Subs: Amos, Smalling, Fabio, Pogba, Giggs, Berbatov, Hernandez.

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Rafael
CB: Evans
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Young

CF: Rooney
CF: Hernandez

Subs: Amos, Jones, Smalling, Cleverley, Nani, Giggs, Welbeck

Easiest team to pick for a while:

De Gea
Rafael---Evans---Ferdinand---Evra
Valencia---Carrick---Scholes---Young
---Rooney
Welbeck

Not a game to take lightly given what QPR have accomplished against Arsenal and Liverpool recently, but I'd maybe consider Fabio at left-back and Giggs starting with Carrick, so both Evra and Scholes get a rest ahead of midweek against Wigan (they shouldn't actually need a rest given the space between games at this stage, but still it's a boring line-up :p ).

De Gea
Rafael Rio Evans Evra
Valencia Carrick Scholes Young
Rooney Welbeck

Maybe Nani will be back on the bench for this one, hopefully we can have all three of our wingers fit and ready to go and in form for the end of the season.
I'm predicting 6-0, opening up an 8 point gap with City going to arsenal (which I don't think they will win). Today's win was a real confidence booster I think, now we really believe we will win the title.
Rooney x2, Valencia, Nani, Welbeck and Hernandez to score.

They will be fighting for their lives. It wont be easy by any means. I hope we can keep possession well throughout and make no silly defensive mistakes esp from set-pieces.

I have a funny feeling that we are going to draw this game, but City to lose at Arsenal.

I can see a few changes, such as Cleverley, Giggsy, Park and Welbeck to start. Back four wont change.

perhaps one of our best chance of improving our GD tally. hoping that berba is at least on the bench as well, this could be one of the 2-3 games that fergei might gives him a few minutes time on the pitch.

I don't think Welbeck will start this. Fergie seemed rightfully pissed when he came on and tried to be too flashy. I just think that it's something Fergie takes note off and gives players a hint in his own way (leaving him on the bench again).

Saw them against Arsenal. Look a pretty decent side when Zamora does his Sparky impression.

Whatever we do please lets have Young and Valencia on the wings with Rooney down the middle in a 4-4-2. If Nani's fit I'd be tempted to play him in the hole in a free role behind Wazza.

There is literally no excuse to feck around with the starting line up - we have seven games left this season.

Definitely no messing about, no need for Rooney on the left. Let's go at them from the off.

This.

I expect the likes of Nani, Cleverley and Smalling will get minutes against Wigan.

No dicking around. Let's go at them, get the win and get ourselves eight points clear. If that happens, then the pressure on City will be absolutely huge, and they're away to Arsenal.

Not a bad idea, Rooney up front, where he should be, with Nani tieing them in knots behind and Valencia & Young causing havoc on the wings. We need a strong midfield to back up Nani though as he won't be doing much in the way of defensive duties.

Don't bloody jinx it!

I think this could be a lot harder game than people think, QPR are fighting for their lives at the bottom and have upped there game recently.

I think we're due a shock result in the title race.

Not a chance of that central midfield imo

eh??????????????????????
based on what????? why on earth would carrck be dropped and why on earth would park get the nod over young?

hopefully we get an early goal, hopefully 2 by half time and then attempt to destroy them. a comprehensive 4 or 5 - 0 will put the fear of god into city and crank up the pressure on them that bit more.

i'll be interested to see how city approach the arsenal game. typically under mancini they have gone to the emirates for a draw. they cant really do that this time and so if they attack it plays into the hands of ox, wallcott and van persie. sticking it to QPR will force them down tis route

Two or three weeks ago, I would have said we'll smash them. However, our last home performance got a tad nervy towards the end and QPR have beaten Arsenal and Liverpool recently.

I think it could be tight and nervy, unless we can get an early goal.

Start of 3 games in one week. Will Fergie rotate? Stupid question, of course he will but I wonder which game would be more likely.

Hopefully Rio is fit enough to play all of them, him and Evans looking good and not ideal to change that now. Would also have Evra in every game.

I think Scholes will start on the bench, because I'm sure he will play against Wigan on wednesday.

I think rotating too much for QPR will be a bad move. I think we go full strength here (I agree about Scholes perhaps), then change things up against Wigan. If we win here and City drop more points then the pressure is off for Wigan really (That's not to say it's not really important still).

Going to have to rest Rio sooner or later. I'd rather he play on Sunday and we rest him for Wigan away.

Are you sure you want to chance Chris Smalling against Franco Di Santo?

Tbh, I'd like us to just play our first XI. It's at home to a relegation candidate - Fergie shouldn't be chopping and changing. Psychologically this match is absolutely enormous. Win and all of the pressure is on City - who will be sitting in the dressing room at the Emriates watching.

But if we lose, that's all the motivation they'll need to go and get a result against l'Arse. Obviously Fergie knows this, but if I see Park and Giggs as starters I'll die a little bit inside, regardless of the match against Wigan.

Should be an easy game for us, their away record is awful and they are a pretty average side to be fair. I'd like us to do it the easy way though, quick two goals and cruise through the rest of the game instead of messing around.

QPR were awful at Sunderland, they are poor defensively, and if we score early we'll batter them.

I see a couple of changes, taking into account the next game will be midweek. I reckons smalling or jones and park will start

I think we'll thrash QPR 5-1.

Perhaps one of those games when we start off slow by conceding. Take about 10 shots with 9 clearances off the line then start smashing em in second half.
