Dempsey's a pretty average footballer who's very good at getting goals from midfield. He wouldn't get a look in at any of the top clubs.
Lucas is a very good defensive midfielder who could easily play for one of the top clubs. So yeah, I'd choose him.
I know results don't exactly prove this but Liverpool play the best football in the league.
Just because he's their most important player, that doesn't make him an incredibly good player, for example Jarvis is probably Wolves' most important player but that doesn't make him good enough for us.
