Berbatov | Fulham player

Just seen this on Facebook

Because i am tired of speculation,i am talling you this. I read the papers and i see they say 10 million pounds is my price. I go and talk with Sir Alex, and he says to me 5 million..So who is talling the truth, what do you think??..And the truth is, I love this club, but i am not going to be useful to anyone, if i am not playing. And i want to play, i want to help. But for unknown reasons its not going to happen, or my chances will be limited, so it's better for everyone if we say goodbay. If not, i am professional and i will keep doing everything i can, to help my team and my teammates, whenever i have opportunity to do so.

 Dear.

I do think we should get rid now though, while we can still get something from him financially, because he's at the point where he just can't offer anything on a regular basis. Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, Kagawa and the wingers should provide enough attacking threat, whereas Berbatov just won't.

Berbatoff.

A player of Berba's ability will always provide an attacking threat.

Genius.

Always is the key word there, and it's wrong, because he doesn't always provide an attacking threat. And it seems that it's less often that he does. Eventually he just stopped getting played last season, and we didn't miss him.

Liam, we definitely missed him when Welbeck wasn't scoring and the boss wasn't giving Berba a chance. For all of Welbeck's strengths, he still isn't a consistent goalscorer. If he becomes one this season, it will be a huge boost.

Bullshit, he is a better player than all of those bar Rooney. God knows what SAF was thinking last year.

Well his goals to games ratio was pretty good if I remember right. Personally I think we should have used him more.

And you think Berba is? Eleven goals in three games, and another ten dotted elsewhere isn't consistent goalscoring. Rooney scored consistently this season, as did Aguero, neither more so than RVP though. Having an absolute blinder now and again doesn't make an excellent footballer.

We missed him so much that, despite being fit on the whole, he was never used by Ferguson?

We can argue all day as to who the better footballer is out of Welbeck and Berbatov (Berba has more natural ability and is a better footballer), but the real question is, who contributes the most to the team? Only one answer there.

No there isn't.

No there isn't.

I'd bring up one of City's many goals from that day, and in one of them Welbeck is our last line of defence. Everyone else had fecked off and given up. I was so furious I left at four, but Welbeck actually carried on. Sprinted back down the length of the pitch (in vain), only for them to score anyway. Berbatov would never do this. So to make up for his absolute absence of defensive contribution, he'd have offer vast quantities more than Welbeck does in attack, and I don't feel he does, certainly not regularly anyway.

You've obviously never watched Berbatov because he is very good aerially and often comes back to defend set-pieces and crosses into the box. It's exactly this sort of ignorance that pisses me off when it comes to evaluating Berbatov.

Berbs is my favourite player in the squad... he's a real gem of a playa. I'm no wum.

Berbatov made 12 appearances, half from the bench and scored 7 league goals. Should have played more

I will say that for him, he did have an excellent goals/minute ratio last season

What? A 6ft+ player defends set pieces? Shocker.

Ronaldo does the same thing, does he too contribute greatly in defence?

Liam, it was made clear that Ferguson wasn't going to use berba and wants to give Welbeck and Chicharito more time. Neither were scoring, and he should have been given a chance. He wasn't. Fergie gets 99% of his decisions right, but I think last season, he decided that developing Welbeck was too important, and it cost us. He wasn't given a chance, so you can't really argue that he wouldn't have contributed.

the things that hurt the club last season has nothing to do with not playing Berbatov, too many lapses when the other team had the ball. Berbatov wouldn't have changed any of that. Not saying anything bad about so keep your knickers untwisted.

But I hear on his facebook he was making some comments on his price, perhaps trying to get some bidders interested?

If you haven't noticed how effective Berbatov is at defending set-pieces and crosses into the box then you obviously haven't been watching closely enough. Welbeck got the nod ahead of him because SAF wants to bring through an academy player and build for the future, in reality the only thing that Welbeck offers that Berba doesn't is pace.

Thought that was some weird fan doing one of those parody things! Didn't realise it was actually him. Strange comment, but nice to have it out in the open.

I know Berbatov is a likeable person, but his fanbois should realise he doesn't suit us anymore...

Interesting is that he's first to love when he's not playing and he's first to blame when he is playing.

Your referring to the end of the season, while I'm referring to the parts where Welbeck/Hernandez (both who I love btw) weren't scoring goals. I actually like them both more than Berba, but just disagree with how he was used last season.

We did lose the league on goal difference.

When he played last season ( I don't have the stats) I remember him scoring. Again, he wasn't given a chance, so how can you expect him to score? Anyway, I'm out of this one as I don't like Berba enough to get into a fight with most of the caf.

Yes, but Berbatov can disappear for months, like he did in every season he was a regular, I repeat he disappeared for months. And saying that he is consistent is far away from the truth, if nothing else he is the most inconsistent player we have.

Consistency is what Chicha showed in his first season here, scoring goals in important matches when we needed him mostly, regardless if he started or came from the bench. Scoring a hat trick, then disappearing for months before he scores 5 goals and then disappearing again is the contrary of consistency.

Berba would be a very good player for most Premiership teams but the harsh truth is that he isnt needed here anymore. But yeah, there were times last season when playing him would have helped us. Its absolutely wrong to say Berba wouldnt be able to offer an attacking threat as good as Welbeck and Hernandez. He's a better player than both atm. Welbeck has the advantage of suiting our style more though and SAF is thinking long term.

I must forget that penalty he gave away against blackburn. regardless of the fact he scored two in that game, for you supposedly bragging about how great a defender he is, that defensive feck up was needless and in the end cost us.

Underlined his starts.

There were far more people to point the finger at regarding that loss than Berbatov.

Yes, better than Cantona (stats...). Feeky has the exact numbers.

I don't think we should have used him more. I think we should have let him go at least 12 months ago.

What do you mean? In his best season at United, Chicha still was better than him. Welbeck has potential to be much better than him and also suits our style better, so yes SAF played him last year having an eye on future but still played very well.
