Manchester United vs Real Madrid

This is Wayne fecking Rooney, I'm sorry but you don't bench him for a game of this magnitude.

I don't mind Giggs starting to be honest, I'd rather have Rooney in for Welbeck and move Giggs to the wing. Welbeck was decent in the first leg, and got the goal of course but I feel we should have gone for Rooney behind RVP.

Nervous as feck right now.

Nah don't think Giggs could play wing for this game, he's shown he's still got great energy but I don't think he's up for the amount of tracking the wingers will have to do.

I wish he had picked me to start this game, that would really have fecked up the mind games...

Jesus Christ. What is the meaning of this?! I demand answers!

Oh for feck sake. Why not play him if fit? Also the Evans one baffles me a bit, he's been on great form

20/1 ODDS on Giggs to be first gs

What makes this all so funny is how much criticism Rooney got after the 1st leg and now the fecking world's ended because he hasn't started tonight.

You know what would have been hilarious?

Jones starting

Giggs is shading form wise for me, I'm also a romanticist.

Shouldnt be the case for such a game mate.

We'l know after the game, but i'd be very surprised if its not a minor injury. I refuse to believe Rooney would be dropped.

This is incredibly bizarre.

First thought was, he must be injured, have a niggle.
Then saw he's on the bench.

Second thought, was that he must be going with Kagawa in the centre instead.
Also wrong.

With all the talk from Fergie of how quality Kagawa will be next year, this is starting to feel a bit like Rooney could well be sold in the summer now.

Berbatov got left out of the squad for that Barcelona final, now Rooney left out of this. Bizarre.

or genius.. But at 7pm feels bizarre.

Ridiculous to drop Rooney. There is no argument against that. The 11 that have been picked, if they all play well, can win but there is no question our task has become more difficult by a ridiculous and bloody minded decision.

Do you think SAF handed in the team lineup along with a BOOM.gif?

Glad about that, saf obviously prefers to soak up pressure and counter in this match.

Rooney doesn't have the legs for a wing job, nani and welbeck much more suited.

If we are struggling bring on Rooney and 4-4-2.

Some of the Madrid players think the jersey might hinder them?

Some of the Madrid players are also retarded.

To be fair, if this match plays out like the first leg then it makes more sense to have Rooney come on fresh in his best position later on when the game opens up rather than 'doing a job' on the wing and running himself into the ground.

You had a point until you suggested Nani would do a better job of soaking presser than Rooney.

Will be interesting to see if Giggs starts behind VP with Welbeck on the left or the other way round.

Welbeck did a good job of stopping Alonso when he moved in behind VP in the first leg.

A big, big shock - but sort of understandable given that Rooney is not at his best at the moment.

Big fan of Vidic, Nani and Cleverley playing especially. Still very excited, bring it on!

Fair enough but what has Nani done to deserve a starting place? A good game against Reading and Qpr. Not exactly miles ahead of Rooney. But I suppose he is a real winger so that maybe why.
