That's probably a bit too weak for some. If Nani is healthy I'd rather he started, and if Rooney can also play 90 against City then put him in for Giggs and move Welbeck wide.

Ffs, gooDevil

Nani is suspended, Adnan isn't joining up until next month and Welbeck seems to be doubtful.

Can't Adnan be called up from the B squad 24 hours before the game?

Anyway, he's starting for the U21s so he won't be playing tomorrow.

Definitely had no idea Nani was suspended.

Surely Hernandez should be given a run out here? I'd rest RVP for City. Keep him on the bench unless needed.
We need a win here, no resting our best players please. If we drop points tomorrow it'll complicate things, we should try to be done with the group stages with no fuss and Leverkusen, Shakhtar and Sociedad are no mugs.

No resting, its September. In fact resting players in the very first group game just because we have a big game at the weekend is nonsense and a perfect way to potentially put us on the backfoot through our own stupidity/arrogance.

Van Persie ain't getting rested for this game in a million years. Secure qualification for the knock-outs before we think about that. We paid the price for not playing our best players a couple of years ago. I think he might rotate the likes of Welbeck, Kagawa and Nani in for Valencia and Young (hopefully) but if they play well there's no reason for them not to play again against City.

Why are some wanting to rest player's FFS is is only September.

I've seen this the past 2 weeks, a lot calling to rotate and rest players, they've played 4 games! Although I take it some are putting more emphasis on the next league fixture.

I'm actually hoping to see Fellaini start tomorrow night.

I'm intrigued to see him and Carrick play as a partnership for a full 90 mins.

Team should be:
De Gea
Fabio Vidic Evans Buttner
Fellaini Scholes
Januzaj Kagawa Nani
RVP

I hope Kagawa starts, but let's be honest, it's going to be:

de Gea
Rafael Vidic Evans Evra
Carrick Fellaini
Valencia Rooney Giggs
van Persie

We going to play the same 11 every week? Does Hernandez not need to get up to speed? feck, people have been complaining about Kagawa and Nani not playing but that would mean resting other players, heaven forbid. It's not just about resting RVP but getting other players going too.

Still not a good idea to rest players in a game as important and difficult as this one will be. Hernandez for Van Persie would be fine if it was just that, but we can't have loads of changes. It needs to be a very strong lineup for all of our champions league games because not one of the teams will be an easy win.

I want to see a strong team put out. No messing about until we are basically through from the group stage. After that we can start to think about resting players and such.

Aye. fecking around with the team selection saw us knocked out of the group stages 2 years ago.

yep, SAF may have been able to largely get away with that, Moyes in his first year will be crucified by the media and lots of the fans if the same thing happened this year.

This type of hypocrisy annoys me but is a fact of life. Imagine how Benitez would be getting treated if he had done exactly what Mourinho has done so far at Chelsea, drop Mata, Shirley up front, loan out Lukaku, lose to Everton. I'm sure they would be calling for his head yet Mourinho remains relatively unscathed.

Benitez is an arsehole. Mourinho is a charismatic/beloved arsehole. It'd take something special for him to be in hot water with the fans.

I think he'll play Giggs instead of Young.

That's certainly possible, I guess if Moyes must use Giggs over the next week I'd prefer the CL match to the derby, although the Capital One Cup would be better, with him leading a team of our youngsters.

All I know is that I'd play Nani in this game.

feck the consequences.

Yeah playing full 90 mins knowing the game would be given as walkover anyway due to fielding an ineligible player to make a point sounds like a good idea.

As long as Kagawa starts and Hernandez gets at least 30 minutes I'm happy

Kagawa has just had the flu> I'd be surprised if he starts.

Stefan Kießling (CF): Their main attack source. Very reliable striker with very good instinct. He is also in the form of his life coming from a great season (25 goals, 10 assists), when he won the goal cannon, edging out Robert Lewandowski. He also already scored 5 goals in this season. Underrated in my book, mainly because he is for whatever reason not in the national team despite being Germany´s best striker in the last season. But then again, he is not the only case of being ignored by our national "coach" depite showing true class (*cough* Weidenfeller *cough*).

Gonzalo Castro (CM): Former full back, who was turned to a midfielder. Was considered as an eternal talent, but made a big step forward when he changed positions. The most offensive of the 3 man midfield (can also play as winger) and a good crosser.

Kießling is a terrific player, IMO. Never quite understood how he's been ignored for the NT, tbh.

Castro is a technical player who still has some pace left and decent on fks...ahh, just noticed it's been mentioned that he's injured
