Why the feck would you play Smalling rb, doesn't make any sense when Fabio is fit.

Maybe we don't want to risk Fabio for the City game or maybe we want Smalling available for the City game and he needs match time.

Like the line-up. In fact I fecking love it.

I'm surprised Nani isn't on the bench though.

OFFICIAL MUFC TEAM:

de Gea

Smalling
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Carrick
Fellaini

Valencia
Kagawa
Rooney

van Persie

SUBS: Lindegaard, Fabio, Evans, Cleverley, Anderson, Young, Hernandez.

I don't want to moan because there's nothing wrong with the Rio-Vidic partnership, but the lack of games Evans has been given is a bit concerning. He was as good as Rio last season and is hardly young and inexperienced now.

Wow. What a line-up.. City Sunday and Liverpool next week (cup I know) but I'm impressed with the team.

Was sure he wouldn't play both Ferdinand and Vidic.

I like this team. I hope we get to see it for a few games with Rafael coming in for Smalling and Nani for Valencia.

Anyone know anything about their left winger? Worry a bit about Smalling's turning circle. Decent for a centre back, woeful for a full back.

Cracking line-up, though I wouldn't expect much from our right wing with Smalling/Valencia teaming up. Excellent that Giggsy isn't in the squad either... I hope he only comes back in emergency cases, as much as I love him (I also hope he isn't saved for City away on Sunday...). COME ON UNITED!

Great team.

The bench isn't very inspiring though

One of the best impact subs in world football for me.
Bold but, Hernandez ability coming off the bench is amazing.

Otherwise, nothing special I agree but we start the game with lots of firepower so it shouldn't be much of a concern.

Yes. Apart from Nani, that's the best line up we could've used. No Jones on the right, we went with Smalling with is middle ground between Fabio and him.
Carrick and Fellaini brings me so much happiness, and Shinji/Rooney/RVP.

Rejoice! We'll win 8-0.

Nice team, guess need to see fellaini and carreick gel ahead of city. Reckon smalling is in for his height. Bit suprised at giggs not playing, reckon unless its an injury he's a cert to start against city unless kagawa has a brilliant game and looks fit. An sure welbeck will play if he's fit so only one space left.

Yeah, true enough but nothing much in the way of creativity from the bench. Will have to hope Valencia is on his game today as unlikely as it might be

4-3-3 with Valencia sitting closer to Carrick and Fellaini would be the best utilization of that line up for my money.

You're all very welcome.

Love that team!

Looking forward to this. Guess it will be Kagawa left but it will be interesting if Moyes changes it and goes for Rooney there

Surely you'd want kagawa tucked in rather than Valencia? Otherwise would becom very narrow and not like smalling gonna give much on the right. I'd rather let kagawa drift from the left with Valencia providing the balance by maintaining his width.

No Bender today, Emre Can is surprisingly starting for Leverkusen.

Leno - Boenisch, Toprak, Spahic, Donati - Rolfes, Reinartz, Can - Son, Kießling, Sam
