Manchester United vs. Liverpool

Floated shot-come-cross from Kag looked dangerous for a second. Sky very, very impressed with Dippers' defending. Neither was that impressive.

They're all right in the middle and that's where much of our attacking pressure is concentrated. Get it wide.

The heck was Rafa doing there? Looked like DDG gave him a call and he just ignored it!

Nani has been inconsistent for about four years. Even trying to argue that he isn't is just absolute madness.

Actually, Nani was consistent in 2010, 2011, and first half of 2012. You're just being very close-minded.

Jones is from the Young-Ji Sung school of always falling over

I still think he would have benefitted from some additional minutes up until now. Still it's likely he won't manage all 90 tonight in which case at least we should see zaha or Janujaz hopefully.

Sky seem to be on an ABU mission here. Strange for them..

Fair enough, I'm inclined to think that most Asian players need to bulk up a bit to manage in England. I don't think he'd have fared well against City...Chelsea's backline might have roughed him up a fair bit, too.

But we've allowed Liverpool more chances in this game already than we did in our last game..

Don't agree with that.

Either way I would expect a good team like Liverpool to get a few chances. They are playing through our CMs (neither of whom are actual CMs) and therefore their strikers are getting the ball. Just because sky are jizzing themselves whenever the SAS have it doesn't mean they have been tearing us open left right and centre.

Add Evra, Vidic, Carrick and Fellaini into this and I suspect we will look fine. Then add RVP up front and we will see the difference.

He has fantastic agility though which helps when you are not physically strong. He strikes me as a player whose match sharpness makes a huge difference to his overall game, as he is a very technical player.

Sky are really fecking me off...

Well...done...ref.

Not what so ever. I didn't actually even say he'd been bad today, just inconsistent as usual. One moment linking up lovely and the next strolling around and passing with no care as if it's a kick around in the park.

Of course if you dare say anything even close to negative about Nani on here you get hounded. Come in the match day threads with Young and Valencia though and see 50 straight posts of how shit they are.

Kagawa needs a rocket up the arse. Just too slow and ponderous in possession.

That was shocking. Nani just did Lucas(?) with his first touch and the referee blows for half time... Really?!

Feels like a game where Liverpool will nick one on a breakaway and that will be that.

feck off, Clattenburg, we were attacking.

Buttner gives you hope that you could still make it in football. Brainless.

Nani just looks so much more dangerous in the final third than his positional rivals. Looks to shift the ball and whip in a cross from deep, hit it from distance or take people on either on the inside or out. Just having a go and testing the opposition.

Good to see him back in the team.

Started well but then Liverpool came into it and looked dangerous. Overall a poor half of football.

Jones-Giggs midfield doesn't work, need an actual CM there. Smalling has been a rock and it's great to have Rafael back. Rooney has looked sharp. Buttner should not be playing LB.

No.

Hernandez has probably been our best player so far. Hasn't put a single foot wrong. Him and Rooney by a distance.

Hernandez has hardly been in the game and Nani has been ok at best neither been good nor poor just ok

It's the league cup. Don't care if we win or lose.
Was the same under Fergie.. Moyes could do with a win after the slow start.. but this really doesnt matter.

Getting a good run in the league now that some tough fixtures are done would be far more important.
