Liverpool

They are apparently going to work for the NY branch of City? Also, from Reddit:

There is a user over on /r/Liverpoolfc that we know is a coach at the club. This is what he posted 30 minutes ago:%0Aright just finished for the day, got in at 7 got told we had a meeting at 8:30 with Phil Roscoe and Alex. In the meeting we were told that both Frank and Borrell had been let go on wednesday and we were told for the next few weeks while Rodgers and the other management sorts out replacements we're going to be sharing extended duties. Whats I thought was crazy is that they (or Frank) will STILL be coming in and helping with his own phasing out but were not to interact with him.. There were one or two coaches that put in complaints and protests in the meeting but im sure others put in complaints throughout the day.. the big dogs are all in a fecking mood though as a result, i get the vibe that they arent happy with the decision or with the extra workload dumped on them and on top of it they have everybody moaning at them about the extra work as crazy as this may sound....I feel like this is Brendan making a power play, Frank and Borrell have largely agreed with BR's input but they have always maintained control of the academy and players and influenced their development to their own accord and to be fair have had good success. BR is a very smart manager but wants and needs to control everything to get exactly what he wants (in a good way) I feel that there have been a few times when Frank and Borrell have fought with him on ideas and this sacking now allows him to bring more of his own people in and take the academy and player development in the direction he wants.

Suso: Almeria youth product
Sterling: QPR youth product
Wisdom: I would say he's a Brentford youth product......he joined Liverpool with 16

So only Flanagan is a real Liverpool youth product

@Liverpool fans
Is Samed Yesil still injured?

Yeah, I know. They were still playing for the Liverpool academy anyway and were/are potentially good players.

Yesil is not injured but I haven't seen him play for a few months (mainly because I keep missing the sodding games on TV). He's not been free scoring as promised.

He was injured. He tore his ACL I think. Probably being eased back.

Very odd sacking Borrell. I read a piece there where Wisdom was absolutely raving about him. Credited him for his break through etc. He said 4 or 5 other academy players were the same. Although suso was one of them.

Aye, he's highly regarded. He was a big part of the La Maisa set up that brought through Messii, Iniesta and the rest of the group.

Confident this is because of a disconnect between Borrell/McParland and Rodgers. I've heard in the past that they had differing visions for the academy; this is probably just Rodgers asserting his control.

Look, if Rodgers is going to be there for a long long time which I think you lot want and I know he wants then I think he sees himself putting in place a style and system that all Liverpool teams must adhere to from youth level up. If he wants a certain type of players to play in a certain type of way for the benefit of the first team then I see that as being a pretty admirable stance and you gotta either back your manager on these things otherwise he's not the right man in the long term.

You are looking at Rodgers long term, yeah?

Borrell (and Segura) were excellent when they actually did their original roles that Benitez brought them in for. Over the last year and half Borrell has not been so hands on with the youngsters. Which kind of negates his benefits.

But yes Sterling, Suso, Wisdom, even Ibe flourished under them. If he performs the same role at City (which is where is rumoured to be going) that he did at Anfield early in his career then its to City's advantage. Though I'm sure Rodgers will just nick the youngsters once they don't get first team chances. ;)

Hull, Norwich, West Ham, Tottenham and Cardiff next. Confident we'll get at least 13 points from those games. Four of those are extremely winnable and if we go into the Spurs game in good form, then who knows, they've been awful this season. If we do that and then manage to scrape a couple of points against City and Chelsea after that I'd be absolutely delighted. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if we picked up 57 or 58 points against the bottom 10 this season.

So you reckon it's basically certain you're going to win the league?

I can't imagine anyone picking up 57 or 58 out of 60 against bottom 10 and not win it.

You nutter

Seeing as they have already dropped points against Newcastle, Southampton and Swansea and at least one of them will end up in the bottom 10 (United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Everton are pretty much guaranteed top half spots and that's 7 teams already, doubtful that remainin 3 would be that exact ones) he expects them to win all the remaining games.

Jesus.

This seems to be your year then.

Oh well. There's always next year for the teams that finished in the top 6 last year. Arsenal fans must feel crushed after seeing their team top in recent times and then realizing they have no chance.

Obviously the table will stay exactly as it is now except Liverpool will go top and Arsenal 2nd.

No matter how sensible certain Liverpool fans come across, they are always prone to saying shit like this. It's in their DNA.

Oh Lord, I was starting to think that there exists a level-headed Liverpool supporter except B20* and a mate of mine, but it looks that I was wrong. Anyway, has it ever happened that a team in this league got 57-58 points against bottom 10?

* numbers after B are subject of change

I will be surprised if you get more than 10.

Why isn't he saying we're gonna win the league with record points ? Cause that's title winning form or is he completely dumb ?

Corrected.

feck, with this form they are going to win Champions and the World Cup (you know the tournament when states play against each other) this season.

In fairness to Liverpool, they are thrashing all the bottom half teams. They won't keep it up for the season against them though.
