His ability to break up attacks in his uniquely clumsy way is useful.
There has been a significant improvement in his performances since returning from injury. He has demonstrated that he can justify a place in the squad to start against lower half sides. The suspicion remains, however, that if United are to return to the level where we are genuinely competitive against the likes of Bayern and Barca, then Fellaini will amount to little more than a squad player. At £27.5M it seems a very poor return on our investment.
He will never be a crowd favourite. He is a reminder of an embarrasing transfer window in which we were out-manoeuvred by Everton. He has a languid running style reminiscent of Berbatov and can foul like Scholes, but lacks the finer qualities of both those players. In such circumstances it is all too easy to be excessively critical of him. In truth there have been worse performances than Fellaini's this past month.

We've had a great few days & Fellaini has been instrumental in that, so bloody enjoy the positivity with the team at the moment & stop moaning... we've all done enough moaning all season, so this is a time to be cheerful & full of beans for a change!

Totally man. Its healthy to slag a player off for a shit performance - it gets it off your chest & proves to yourself that you actually understand the game & the team, not floatin around in red-fairly land being delusional.
The otherside to that is, when a player puts in a great shift or a couple - feckin call it that & chuck some kudo's towards the player(s) & stop moaning about "one swallow doesnt make a summer.." shite. Pay respect to the players shift & hope the level of performance can maintained is always the correct thing to do.
Cleverly will always be shit though - even IF he has a storming game in the near future What makes me chuckle at the end of the day, is some people are having a go at him playing to his strengths. We have Mata, Kagawa, the wingers, the forwards to add that extra bit of quality. We have those players to be creative etc. A team is not made up of 11 Paul Scholes. This is probably one of the few games (if any) when Carrick has played at the back, where we've looked good defensively. People always say: but it was West Ham. It's nonsense. The guy came here injured, into a team that had zero confidence and people jumped on him. He has a job to do, and it's not to spray the ball all around the pitch. Get over it. He's not that type of player. We have others who can do that.

Devilish, 'we've looked so at home' against these sort of teams. It's part of the reason we're where we are. There are, after all, another 10 players on the pitch..
Read again Striker. He (Fellaini) and not we (the team). I shiver at the thought of Man United playing that sort of football (which they currently dont). If I loved the ball being more in air then on the pitch Ill be a Basketball fan.
Fellaini is useful to have around against the likes of West Brom etc. Whether its worth spending 27m to have a West Ham type of player who would probably end up frustrated and sent off against against a cheeky but hugely talented player is open to debate.
Since he's come back fully fit he's probably (along with DDG) been our best player
The idea that Fellaini means we play the ball more in the air is surely been disproven at this point. He looks very comfortable on the ground.
I agree with the first part of your post but not with the second.
That's because you've been against the transfer all along and watch the game in "devilishvision" which means anything that doesn't go along with your pre conceived agenda about players is ignored.

Forget the transfer fee and appreciate the player - he's put in some very good performances lately and I think he'll be a great squad player for years to come - I felt he won most set piece duels bar one in the first half with Carroll

Well you are pretty much. Constantly having sly digs at him because he doesn't fit in with what you want from a United player.
I tend to prefer players who are more comfortable with the ball at their feet rather then on air. Think about it. The best CM in the world were the likes of Zidane, Scholes and Maradona not Fellaini and Nolan. Also honours tend to be won by teams/nations who play pass to feet/technical football. Barcelona, Bayern, Man United (treble) and Spain etc as opposed to Bolton, Stoke and England.
However I have no agenda against Fellaini. That kind of stupid to say

Yeah, everyone knew we paid too much before he kicked a ball. Same with the Berbatov transfer. Berbatov played a part and so can Fellaini.
I'm pleased people are starting to come round with Fellaini. Whilst I never expected him to be a star and there were certainly other players I would have preferred, I've always been confident that he would come good.
He is a player whose size and reputation really seem to count against him. He is quite tidy on the ball, has good feet and a reasonable range of passing (again he obviously isn't Paul Scholes but nowhere near as bad as some were making out).
He will develop into a very good box to box midfielder for us in my opinion, now that he has creative players in front of him who he can give the ball to, and who will create more space for him to attack from deep a-la Yaya Toure.

Some typical lazy comments on this page. 'he'll be useful against the ugly sides but embarrassed elsewhere' etc. The lad is actually showing us all that he can be a decent passer of the ball and can beat a man, but most people choose not to see it.

Cleverly is my blackspot if i'm honest. Never want to see him in the side any day soon. He offers nothing & apart from him coming through the ranks - folk would have wanted rid of him in January i reckon...

Betbatov had one good season and one decent one. Apart from that was wank. I celebrated when Fergie left him out of the CL final.

Berbatov was a fantastic player. Was not 'wank' in any season. Didn't seem to quite fit in at times but contributed often and was capable of absolute genius.
He's definitely good enough on the ball and showed quite some improvement over the last few weeks so fair play to him
Another positive performance. Our best midfielder currently. Hope he gets a run of games now.
I've been impressed since his return, with Mata in front of him he's tactically useful. He keeps it simple but he's progressive unlike Cleverley and he provides some steel to boot.

He's been good in every game which is more than I can say about anyone else. Really consistent.

Yep I would agree with that, he's been in the top 3/4 players for every game.
Against WBA he was arguably our best player. Don't think he's been our best player in every game he's played these last few weeks though.
