I like our starting line-up! Moyes is finally trying something different, I hope. And dare I say it suggests that we're gonna see more attack through the middle and less crossing?

Paul Scholes in the studio!

I love listening to him. No doubt, no concessions. Love it. We can win. F-k the world. The Fergie spirit still lives. Prove people wrong.

Hmm not sure on the team. I get going for 3 but clev has not shown much ability to break well from midfield and if fellaini breaks it might not mix well with mata higher up the pitch.

Think we could have gone with mata as the third player but oh well. Really hope he doesn't stick welbeck through the middle with Rooney though.

I suggested a 3 man CM of Carrick, Cleverley and Fellaini against Bayern. Hopefully he's trialling it tonight in preparation.

That doesn't mean I want to see Fellaini as a #10 all night.

If the words "weakest link" should ever be used - Demichelis. With him around - we absolutely have a chance. My guess is - he will pull down Welbeck and get us a penalty today

what did he say?

Moyes doesn't know his best team, United players aint helped him cos they aren't playing their best. No pace in the side. Players afraid to give the ball away and not making forward passes.

Scholes never sugar coats.

CONFIRMED MUFC XI:

de Gea

Rafael
Ferdinand
Jones
Evra

Carrick
Cleverley
Fellaini

Welbeck
Mata

Rooney

SUBS: Lindegaard, Büttner, Fletcher, Kagawa, Young, Valencia, Hernandez

Good lad Moyesey. Pick up 3 points, ta. He'll probably end up playing Fellaini as a number 10.

3 man midfield, jesus. I'm getting genuinely hopeful tonight won't be that bad. We'll still lose but it's not going to be the hiding that we are all expecting. Would put Fletcher instead of Cleverley but I like the line up.

Scholesy in the studio. Love how he mentioned that Giggs wasn't afraid to lose the ball against Olympiakos, suggesting some of our other midfielders play too safe.

Unless it's Fellaini as a no.10 to play long balls to.

Lets wait and see how we lineup.

Nice. and what about the game?

They do. Their confidence has been shot and they have been going ultra safe. Scholes just called them out on it.

"You will see a Man City team that lines up stronger in every position"

Can't argue with that, except for DDG.

Gonna be real tough for our midfield againt Yaya and Fernandinho.

Please feck them up, for a Chelsea fan, we did give you Mata after all *hugs*

Oh I know, but you don't see pundits ever really calling our players out on it. I'd like to think it means a little more coming from someone like Scholes too.

For all the taking of the tactical high ground, using Fellaini has a no.10 to play long balls to worked pretty well for Everton against City in the past and if it won us the game I'd take it in a second.

Refreshing to hear someone actually identify problems rather than spouting cliches.

And up top I'd argue as well. Yes no van Persie or Aguero but I'd take Welbeck/Mata/Rooney over Navas/Silva/Dzeko for sure.

Rooney vs Dzeko? Jones is also better than Demichelis (yeah, I decided to match up Kompany with Ferdinand because that suits point I'm making).
