It had to be Godfather at #1, all-time classic.
Ok I'll be blunt. This list is utter wank and a victory for fandom/ cults. Couple of observations :
1. Especially peeved that there were no movies around top 25 with strong female leads. I mean Jodie Foster in The Accused, Meryl Streep in Sophie's Choice, Adele Exarchopoulos in Blue is the warmest Color.. There have been some monumental female performances but none make the cut. Same with DDL as Daniel Plainview, Pacino in Scent of a Woman/ Dog Day Afternoon, Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird, Dustin Hofmann Midnight Cowboy.
2. Very few non-English movies. No AKira Kurosawa, Segio Leone, Federico Fellini, Luis Banuel, Igmar Bergman. What's up with that ? But freaking Gladiator - the most ovrrated Ben Hur-esque movie of our times makes its way to the top.. Goodfellas in Top 5 over Taxi Driver.. FFF..
